2.
Hiya, Any interest in a trade? A compressor is top of my list... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=127007 Shep
Thanks for the offer mate but I don't have any use for one of them at the mo - wish I did though! Steve
3.
The bass sounds clean on that track to me?
In the verse it is, and in the chorus it's that deep in the mix it's hard to tell... but I definitely hear it in the intro and in the bass break after the first chorus.
4. I'm in the market for a bass fuzz (I've been scouting around for a used Mastotron). It would be a bonus if it could produce a similar sound to the fuzz on that U2 track as the covers band I'm in are doing a version of it. Anyone know if it could, or could anyone suggest another pedal worth checking out? I'm looking to spend £100ish, don't mind buying used.
5. Are new Kingston's out of my budget? I will take a look at Fernandes too, not a brand I'm familiar with. That Valenti is a thing of beauty, I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope it's still available in a couple of weeks, but at that price I doubt it. Anyone here play a Carvin?
6. I've always had sterling advice on these forums so I though I'd pick your collective brains before my next purchase. Don't mind buying second hand. Will be for playing finger-style, I would like a slim fast neck and the B-string has to be tight... I've tried out a few Ibanez and Fender Jass Vs and the B was too loose for me I'm in love with that Carvin SB5000 at the moment but it's way over budget and I've not seen many second hand. Got a preference for rosewood fretboards and natural finishes but it's not all that important.

8. postage is included, so that's a very good price
9. Great pedal, no instructions or box but it will be suitably packaged for posting. Few minor dinks and chips but it's all cosmetic. £45 includes postage! Specs/Pics/Soundclips here: http://line6.com/tonecore/echoPark.html Here's my feedback: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...;hl=dirtystatic Cheers!
10.
Hopefully this will further end the obsession with his Wal basses - he could be playing anything through all those pedals and you wouldn't know the difference! A real shame, as Wal basses don't half sound amazing when you let their tone shine through!
i disagree completely with that, probably about 50% of tool tracks are clean bass, and that wal is immediately recognisable. justin said himself he had another made to the exact spec but it wasn't a patch on his original. if that wal tone wasn't so fundamentally important to him he wouldn't of gone to the trouble and you'd probably see him playing stock fenders or something. you can't get close to his tone without a wal, more specifically the wal EQ. the song 'the patient' for example, that wah-like effect at the start is him sweeping a control on his trademark wal's eq. this video has ruined my life... i now want that setup...
11. The NEO212 is now up for trade: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=100299
12. In great condition, some minor grazing to the corners and the casters (as you'd expect) - covering, steel grille and back plate are all mint. Very light and with bags of power. Here's the specs from the site: Neo 212-II • 4 or 8 ohms • 600 watts • 23.5x24.5x16.5 • 50.5 lbs. It's compatible with the bi-amp feature built into the RB heads, I'll include the required lead. I'm after a 4x10 of a similar quality to go with my GK 1001RB-ii , I am willing to throw in a little cash if the right offer comes along. I'm thinking along the lines of Ampeg or GK RBH series. Thanks!
13. I've always used 4X10s, this 2X12 was abit of a gamble for me. Tweeter is working fine. This rig is incredibly bright, I tend to roll off the tweeter control on the amp. Usually set it between 0 and 9 o'clock. Like I said, when the bass is soloed the tone is superb... just can't feel those bottom two strings when the band starts up. I'd of said it was the bass if it weren't for the fact both of them do it. Woe is me!
14.
I use a GK 1001 with 2 GK Neo112s - never had any problems. I'm playing blues/rock - I might have problems with dub reggae... Is the issue with the sound you hear on stage, the sound the audience hear out front, or both? Where do you typically place your cab (relative to walls/corners particularly)?
When I play live I'm generally backed up by a decent PA and engineered by my mate who is an excellent sound guy so it's not really an issue. But I'm now in a covers band doing smaller pub gigs where we'll be reliant on our back lines, so it's going to be an issue then. And it has the potential to completely ruin my jam session with the band if I can't be heard when I venture up the neck. I've tried setting up many different ways in the past but now I tend to set up roughly a foot away from the wall of the room putting as much distance between and those filthy 6-stringers! This cab is on casters though... that's a first for me, don't know if that would have a major impact on the sound? I am tempted to go for an Ampeg 410HLF that's going on these forums at the moment.
15. Currently playing through a GK 1001RB-II into a GK NEO212. Individually - the cab is the perfect weight and has a massive amount of volume and I love how the head sounds. Even with a flat EQ the tone is spot on. My problems arise when I'm playing live, there just isn't enough 'umpf'. When I play by myself is sounds fantastic, but in the mix is goes missing. I especially struggle trying to make the D ang G strings sounds fat. It's not a volume issue and when I EQ in some more bass and low-mids it makes the B, E and A strings boom horribly... but has hardly any effect on my higher strings. I play an Ibanez ATK300 and SR505 and I have the same problem with both basses into this rig. I've tried various brands/gauges of strings, I've adjusted pick-up height and string-height and nothing seems to make a difference. I've played without issue through other amps so I guess it's my rig. I used to play the GK head into a self-made 1x15 cab and it sounded a hell of a lot better, maybe it's these light weight NEO cabs. I may just have to sacrafice the light weight NEO cab for something beefier. I've been concidering the GK RBX range and also the Ampeg 410HLF. Should I be concerned about loosing the functionality of the bi-amp system if I go for a non-GK cab? Anyone have a sollution to this problem? Or can anyone recommend some other cabs they've had linked up to their GK? Cheers! Ps. I've noticed a few artists raving about the GK RB range of heads, but none of them seem to twin their heads with the GK cabs, it's mostly Ampeg or Mesa.
16. Budget is about £600. I've seen two that came close, one was the Fender Jazz Aerodyne... fits the bill but I'm not a fan of how it looks. The other is the Fender Deluxe P-bass Special... but that's active.
17. I've been happily playing my Ibanez ATK300 for a few years now, but someones gone and thrown a spanner in the works. A friend of mine was selling an Ibanez GSR200, I'd read it was an excellent budget bass so I bought it to use solely as a back up. Thing is I really, really like it. Looks wise - it does nothing for me and I have no faith in the flimsy bridge or tuners. But the neck is perfect and the range and quality of sounds is excellent. It's my first P/J combo and I'm 100% sold on the idea now. I now want to invest the cash in a decent P/J bass but it has to match the following specs: P/J setup, passive (with volume, volume and tone controls) and a rosewood fingerboard. I'd love some suggestions if you have any! Cheers!
18. I'm dropping the price to £125, it seems these things are cheaper now than when I bough mine about 7 months back. No box or manual but mint condition! eBay this weekend if there's no interest.
19.
Hello DS PM'd for the Muff
Holding the muff (teehee), the lovely T-Rex is still available, fantastic pedal!
20. Both pedals are without boxes or instructions but in perfect condition. Velcro applied. Looking for £125 for the T-Rex and £40 for the Muff. Prices include delivery, would prefer bank transfer or cash on collection. Would like to avoid Paypal if at all possible. I can supply pics if needed, but as I say, they're like new. Thanks for looking!
