1.

Thats gotta be the best looking Shuker i have ever see. Some serious eye candy. Nick
2. Yeah definately the MIJ. Build quallity is very similar to US jazzes and they seem to hold their value better than a MIM if ever you decided to sell it later on. Nick

4. Cort Curbow. I had a 5'er and thought it was very light compared to my jazzes. Its body is made of luthite which is a kind of plastic (plastic i hear you scream) With a maple neck/epoxy fretboar, Soapbar pickup, and fairly flexable eq you can get some stingray-ish tones from it. Mine was a slap monster. Nick.
5.
No ta mate I learned my P bass lesson, the sound doesn't work for me, I'm a jazz bass person, I really reaLLY REALLY want the 65 model that another guy recently got on here, i'm gonna try and sell this one it already has 4 watchers on ebay and a fair few questions and also a call!
I think you may be hard pressed to find a '65, mine was by fluke (i thought i was buying a '62) From what i hear they are quite a rare find. It might be worth emailing Ishibashi, John at far east guitars or even the guitar emporium. You may be lucky. Great sounding basses tho. Nick Edit just had a look and you can get one from here.
6. My first bass was one of these. Wonderfull basses they are. Quite rare too. Good luck with the sale. Nick

9. I am really shocked that this hasnt gone yet. If i could have afforded it i would have had it for sure. Nick
10.
I've emailed Ishibashi about finding me a P Bass and they've found me a PB57-60. I was just wondering what the difference is between a STD PB and the 57 reissues? Is there a notable difference? Do they make Standards in Japan?
John at Far East Guitars has one of these in stock. It may be worth emailing him. Can't answer your question tho sorry. Nick
11. It looks even better in the flesh. Now i have had a chance to play it some more im getting the sounds i want from it. Its not normally the sound i'd go for. It has that old school 'honk' to it when you dig in over the bridge pickup. Im gonna keep it all original, no mods at all. I think they would just spoil the vibe. Nick
12.
This isn't a 62 - it's their version of a '65. And it works just fine without a Badass (or active electronics)! One nice modification is replacing the tuners with oval HB2's. (A spiral bridge is another nice mod.)
I was thinking it was modeled on an older version because of the binding. It does have a spiral bridge too. Nick
13.
That's a lovely looking jazzer, Magnolia! Are you going to baddass/j-retro it? Did you import it, or get it from the Guitar Emporium? Seems a lot are going Japanese at the moment. I've just ordered a Geddy Lee japanese jazz
I will more than likely Badass it, but im not sure about a J-retro just yet. I have tried the active jazz route and it wasnt really my cup of tea, but i can only base that on my experience with the Marcus Miller pre amp that fender do. I might buy one next month and see how it goes. Well done on the Geddy by the way I love mine. I was looking at the import route and had a few emails with Ishibashi, but John at www.fareastguitars.co.uk said he was expecting this in and as soon as I saw the pics I knew I wanted it. I went to his lastnight and played it for about 30 seconds then bought it. Nick
14. Well after my early retirement and then my dramatic comeback from early retirement (the burning desire to play overcome me) I bought a lovey new Fender non export CIJ '62 reissue Jazz bass. This has to be one of the most difficult buys i have ever made mainly because of being so spoilt for choice. Anyway, i bought this Jazz bass yesterday. Its finished in Vintage White, with a matching headstock. Alder body, maple neck with a rosewood fretboard which has a lovely grain to it and US Pickups. The serial dates it to 2005/06. Altho it is completely spotless as if its never been played, still has the plastic on the pickguard. The neck is lovely and slim, as much so as my Geddy Lee. It also has white binding on the neck which I was suprised to see. Pluged in it sounds exactly like a '62 jazz should. Here are some pics (taken with my cam phone so not the best quallity) Nick
15. Having owned both, its a pretty close call. The marcus is very versatile with the pre amp, could be a lot better with a j-retro in. I dont like the reverse tuners (a pain when your tuning quickly and tune down instead of up) also i dont like the lack of tone control in passive mode. I felt like the marcus had slightly more bottom end, and sounded better d-tuned. The geddy is my favourite tho, its a no nonsence jazz bass. The neck is the best feature, very fast, slim and it looks good too. Put a j-retro in this and I think its a definate winner. Good thing with both is they seem to hold their value well. Go for the geddy, you wont regret it. Nick
16. Bugger bugguer bugger, went to bid and my pc froze
17. Oh how much I want this. I bet the one I bought of you previously is nothing compared to this. Nick
18. I have been um-ing and ah-ing about getting a CIJ Jazz bass for a few weeks. I think i have setteled on a 62 re-issue in vintage white with matching heastock from Far east guitars. Been emailing John today and it looks like im going to pull the trigger on it. Should arrive in a week or so :-) Nick
19. Arse @ being skint is all I can say. Its very true what Beedster said, when i had mine I felt like it improved my playing. Its just so easy to play. Someone is going to be very happy. Dont suppose you'll take baby snakes as payment?....no.... thought not. :-) Nick.
