1. In the background? That's "How I Met Your Mother", you know.....that Friends ripoff that is actually quite funny sometimes! I'm really happy with the bass so far, just some bedroom playing etc, have a gig tonight and tomorrow though, so will be taking it out with the 4. Marc, what white bodied one did you order? an older year? or a Deluxe? Si
2. If it's anthing like the '09 Standard 5 I just got hold of.......or like my '03 Std. 4....this will be amazing Si
3.
http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=73167 - any interest there?
Afraid not mate, sorry! Will get pics up asap! And give you a PM when I do! Cheers Si
4. Bumped as it's now setup in standard tuning (from Piccolo) with new 30-85 Rotosounds Also completely cleaned up as best it can be I think. I'll get some pics up asap! Si
5. Yeah maybe let him know that his prices a tad high!? lol http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=74355 Si
6. That's an American Deluxe Jazz, according to Fender's website it's only currently available in: 3-Color Sunburst, Amber, Olympic Pearl, Montego Black (Urethane Finish) If this Orange colour was a factory colour (I don't know), then you're only hope is to find a second hand one. My guess is that it' a custom colour for Chris Wolthemshwotwowhwoe, so you're only hope there would be to have a Custom Shop bass built with that finish. For that you're looking at around £2,200 or roundabouts. Or buy any jazz you want.....and have a good luthier refinish it! Si
7. Not a great deal I'm afraid! My rough guesstimate would be about £400-£500??? The neck isn't really worth anything to anyone with a non-original fingerboard, tuners you could perhaps sell on for £200-300?. Pickups maybe £100-£200 Anyone else? Si
8. This is becoming an odd thread. If anyone has any personal issues, please keep it to PM's!! This thread is for selling the OP Olympic white '64 refinish Jazz Eye on the ball guys! Cheers Si
9.
Good choice, I was looking at this, but I think im going to go for another 4 and leave the 5's to a new Classic Series Ray. The new Fenders are great
Yeah I think if the new Classic Rays had been passive (no reason why they would be), they would have been a serious contender. But I have a massive soft spot for Fender Jazzes, so this was a no-brainer! I think I beat another Basschatter to it though.....so if they're reading this......sorry! Si
10. So, popped over to Voxpop's house near Reading and I might have come home with a 2009 Jazz Standard 5 string Shocking photos I know, I'll get some decent ones soon with it's siblings (I kinda have triplets now). It's a real beauty, these '09 Fenders have got great build quality, will be gigging it on saturday & sunday, so am looking forward to it. Si
11. I'm definitly more of a Jazz Bass guy! And as a result, when I put together a Precision for myself (everyone has to have one), I fitted it with a Jazz neck. Strangely I didn't get on with it too well, can't explain it! Traded that for a Japanese Squier Precision with a P neck, and it's real comfortable. Wider than my Jazzes obviously, but still very playable for me! Quite odd! Oh and the (ongoing) record, my S1 American Jazz has never been beaten........by anything Si
12. Moving to 'For sale' section! And yes, a price will need to be added asap, or the thread will be removed! Many thanks Si
13. Yup, a fretted and fretless Wal at Oxford Guitar Gallery for £2995 each! Si
14.
The project will be professional and authentic sounding, with the goal of being the best Rush tribute in the UK

Vocals not essential
This makes me chuckle lol Good luck though Si
15.
Impressive
......"Most Impressive" Si
16. Looks great!! Although.....possibly challenging Sei and Alleva Coppola for 'Worst Headstock Design' Si
17. I find it really odd when people insist that an artist has no talent.....clearly she does, singing, entertaining, succeeding in the music industry is a talent in itself. Ok so you don't have to like her.....but when an artist can be seen at a piano, singing a song very much in tune, that they've written themselves....for the BBC....don't say they're not talented. It's just not your bag Si
18.
Please, let's not do the "popular = no talent" thing again!
+1 Yeah, say what you want, but she's good at what she does! And I actually have a lot of time for her A good friend of mine did a gig for an artist supporting Beyonce, that was a mime gig. What's the issue? Those guys all work hard to get to that level in their industry, who cares if they mime a gig, they'll be playing hard bop way beyond any of us the week after! What I do think is that mimed shows should be advertised as such, so people can choose to buy tickets with all the info Si
19. Yeah I don't really see the point in putting my name forward until a date is sorted If I can come......I will lol Si
20.
Great catch You must have an enormous letterbox.....
Perfect my tiny package? AWESOME! Nice Bongo btw Si
21.
I guess if you look at the work that goes into the higher end Warwicks the cost makes a bit more sense, after all a Fender is basically a bolted together slab bodied instrument with a forearm and belly schamfer, selling for nearly a grand. Warwicks have all the nice curves and rounded edges. Mind you Warwicks are mostly machined now aren't they? I think the Infinity deserves to be pretty pricey, it can't be easy to build what with the cavities and f-holes I remember a thread a while ago where a BCer took the scratchplate off his MIA Jazz to reveal a clumsy pickup rout which went all the way through to the control cavity. I think that's more shocking on a £900+ instrument than anything Warwick have ever done. Whatever they cost they're extremely well made basses and i doubt any corner-cutting like that happens
I think that was me.....but I'd still pick my Fender Jazz over any Warwick I've ever tried, for tone and playability. All Warwicks are machined except for the custom-shop stuff I believe, correct me if I'm wrong but that has been the case since the mid-nineties I think!?. Si
22. Bizarre Can anyone confirm or deny these.....I'm a skeptic! Si
23. Steve is a top top guy!! Great bass player, but more importantly for me, a fantastic musician and composer. Si
24. Sounds promising that they largely hold their price though....a rarity these days Si
25. Yeah why not get a price for a fretless neck build from the new Wal? Si
