1. I'm no expert but a 4ohm retro 210 from barefaced will get you a lot from 350w if I had the cash that's what I'd buy and u reckon that's what Alex will say. If I had a spare £500 that's what I'd buy.
2. Pickup gone type bump Preamp still available, reduced price £125 offers considered need to fund amp!
3. Redimar 250 on ebay at the mo. Any thoughts?
4. [s]I've only one left as decided to keep 112. 2nd 112 available on its own or with the cab £30 collected[/s] both for sale again
5. Hmmm thanks for the input guys very helpful. If I find a LM250 2nd hand I'd go for it, not much luck so far so brand new is £240/250 which is why I'm considering the TH350 as at £300 (albeit used) it's not far off. Anyway the EBS reidmar or the LH500 haven't been on the radar. More research needed! Thanks again fellas 👍
6. Okay so an Aguilar Tone Hammer 350 just popped up in the classified section, for a good price Any opinions on how this fits in with the other heads mentioned?
7. I might be very interested... Does it do warm vintage p-bass? I'm local(ish)
8. Thanks for the input fellas, much appreciated ;-)
9. Hi @mrn1989
I own a LM250 Blackline and its a great cheap head, with the addition of the VLE and VPF filters you can fine tune any sound you want, roll the VPF and the VLE up and it will give you the warm rounded tone you mention, then roll off the VLE to bring the brightness back. .........plus I think its the only one out of the bunch that has a DI volume, which can be very useful. I use mine mainly for recording but Ive gigged with x2 EBS 1x12 cabs outdoors and it did fine without any PA support for a 4 piece blues gig. Hope that helps @sweeneythbass. Would be a great choice but interested to see what other people think of it
thanks for your input, I'm already leaning towards the Mark bass head! Anyone else with experience of the other heads?
10. I play in what has been described as a folk-funk band playing my 51p reissue. So I'm looking in the most part for some nice warm mellow lows to drive the outfit but enough clarity and punch for some funk fingerstyle too. Now my Hartke HA2000 has given up the ghost (on sale here!) I'm looking for a replacement on a tight budget, I dont need huge power as I usually DI on most gigs and my cabs ( 1x12, 1x15) are 200w rated (so max 400w @ 4ohms). With the Hartke HA2000 I got the sound i was after but only after much EQ'ing and addition of the 115. One option is a replacement Hartke. Pros: I do like the tube pre-amp, compression and the versatility of the EQ., I know what I'm getting here. Cons; weight vs small modern heads. I've never tried any of the lighweight heads so need opinions ! The few options i've so far considered: LM250 Black line (Brand new £239) Fender Rumble 350 (used, Ebay £100 bid at the mo, with bag, no longer made?) TC BH250 (£240 Brand New) Hartke 3500/2500 (New £380/180)
11. Bumpin! Great acoustic pickup and preamp, have used the preamp on a couple of gigs now as a DI but upgrading amp so hope to have built in DI and looking to move this to gather amp funds!
12. Bumpin tuesday Might be of use to a man (or woman) with a soldering iron and some knowledge. I've heard the solder joint on the kettle lead plug is a weak point on these
13. Bought new 2 weeks ago from Thomann. I am considering sending it back on 30 day returns but thats gonna cost me postage so its here! Great 115 cab with warm sound used once for a rehearsal. Only selling as now looking for a combo to save space and replace my HA2000 amp (also for sale, spares/repair)
14. Lovely Hartke 250w @ 4 ohms, 125@8 ohms. No power. Well gigged but serviced and looked after. Last serviced Oct 2016, new master vol added (non-original knob added, see pics), new handle added, two eq slider tops missing. See pics for surface scratches. Roqsolid cover included, bought last year (2016) for £35 so a bargain i think! Rehearsed this morning with and sounded great along with 115 and 112 cabs, unfortunately got to the gig and the amp would'nt power up, change kettle leads still no power. Probably just a loose connection somewhere. I'm guessing its a quick fix for someone with the tools and time but I dont have either (or cash) so here it is.
15. Thanks bud, I read a few reviews and came to the same conclusion (more power needed!) your QTX seems like a good solution, particularly as the Roland Bass Micro Cube is £200+
16. Looking at getting one as my band wants to busk 😂 Anyone tried these?
17. A little action .... but not much offers considered. BUMP
