Tried out lots of cabs and this one just seemed right in weight and sound, onto the subject of feedback i took this rig to full power with the help of the notch filter it suffered no feedback at all, im looking forward to playing 1st gig with it next sat, big thankyou to mark for all his help.

 11.
This is my first gig with the Free/Bad Copany/Paul Rodgers tribute HEARTBREAKER.... curious to know if anyone has played this venue and what it's like. Anyone in the area, feel free to come down and say hi!!! Cheers, Nige
its quiet a good venue, good size stage, the venue inside has a very high ceiling with an old look to it, im sure you will have a good night.
 12.
Lot's of ideal "clean sounding" gear around. I'd add Euphonic Audio to your try-out list. Not surprised you fed back with a Markbass rig. My Markbass 4x10 seems to have this problem - ideal for punching a bass guitar through a noisy mix, but emphasises the "wrong" mids for upright. Saying that, if volume is important, it's amazing how damping the strings with a soft cloth through the tailpiece can massively help with this.
yes ill try euphonic audio. on feedback i tried a cloth and a squash ball thanks mick
 13. thanks guys so it looks like its got to be something acoustic friendly as i never had any problems with feedback from my tab 100 which was designed also for acoustic bass. Thanks for your comments, it gives me something to think about to make sure i make the correct purchase this time. Also as anyone had any expeirence with a ea doubler. Thanks again mick.
 14. Hi, just thought i'd ask if any basschatters have any advice on a good rig for DB as im in need of a new set up since my old tab 100 blew up!! for the last 2 gigs iv been using a 70's 50watt fender bassman, sounds great but the weight and size is killing me getting it in the car with the bass aswell, so i need something light, compact, and loudish, i have to keep up with valve amps 40 watts playing rockin blues/rockabilly, iv tried a markbass LMK rig but suffered heavily with feedback never got passed 9oclock on the volume, so had to get shut, so any advice would be helpful cheers ....... now sorted ...........
 15.
when you say Input Light, do you mean on the mains switch or the bit that tells you you're giving the amp a signal?
amp signal
 16.
I don't know the TAB amps, but I have the AH250SMX. On mine, you can use just the preamp section with the power section muted.. does this work on yours? I once had just a speaker go down, with this head driving it.. sparks and the works coming out of the cab.. I wondered why the rest of the band were laughing at me! No damage to the amp, glad to say. If it was mine, I'd take out the speaker and put a meter across it to check that, plus wire the amp to a different speaker to check that. If the speaker's gone it's easy enough to pop another in; if the amp then you need a repairer. Where are you? I know of a couple of amp repairers round Bradford/Halifax. Best of luck, HUGH edit: now I've replied I can see your location!
thanks i still had the input light operating when the sound cutout
 17. Can anyone help playing a gig saturday night, first song second set the sound went and i had smoke coming from the rear speaker port and could smell burning. so i turned it off straight away. and went through the P.A. Anyone unfamiliar to this amp, the input and the graffic and volume are at the top and the power section is at the bottom at the rear.It looks like i will have to take the speaker out to get to the power section. does anyone have any information of the best way to do this or of what may have caused the problem. i hope it is not beyond economic repair. As this is the amp i always return to so im obviously gutted. Any info is helpful. Thanks, Mick.
 18. Hi clarky, just a little bit of information if you are slackening the strings right off to take your bridge down make sure you lay your base on it's back so that the sound post doesn't drop. It's on the g-string side of the bridge look inside the fhole and you will see it. the sound post stops the top of your base from splitting when you put tention on the bridge, e.g tightening the strings. I have put a link below which may help you. as for string tention i've used steal and rockabilly nylon but for the last twelve years i've used rotasound nylon e.g e&a string nylon steal flat wound. d&g nylon core nylon round wound. P.S these strings have a good tention for slapping aswel as plucking. Hope this helps. Mick. 19. i have a mid 70s fender p and love it i also have a 09 if i coud only keep one i would find it hard to pick which one ive had the 70s one a long time so didn't pay alot for it as at the time most mags & people said they were crap but i found it brilliant just as good as any new fender at the time but i must say i do lke classic looking bass's and im not keen on the modern looking bass with exotic woods, if vintage fenders are worth the price they are fetching now .. is a hard one but i would sooner have one than any of the boutique/custom bass's out on the market
 20.
Let's clear this up. MIJ or CIJ refers only to which factory produced the bass and does not reflect quality in any way. The first Jap Fenders (and the incredibly sought after JV & SQ Squiers) were made by Fujigen Gakki. Fujigen was specifically chosen because of the excellent quality of their Fender copies, particularly the Greco range. Fujigen Gakki had the contract for Japanese Fenders up until 1997, and these are labelled MIJ. Subsequently production moved to Dyna Gakki & Tokai Gakki, who labelled their output as CIJ, to distinguish them from Fujigen. Recently Fujigen has resumed production of Fenders so there are now new MIJs hitting the shops. Jon.
spot on i have a 51 p bass mij new this year my guitarist has a cij telecaster of about 3 years old, so i checked all over the web and came to the same conclusion as you, and i must say my 51 is a great bass and is far better than a 90's mim bass i used to own.
