An interesting read. Apologies if this has been posted before.

I love my gear but the XLR output on my Gallien Krueger MB210 is in the wrong way and is a pain in the arse to remove the lead after a gig.

Bring your own bass?

Gonna skip Hootenanny next time. Me and the missus have watched it every year for probably 8 or 10 years, but this last one was pΓ²or. We'll be having a party with proper, danceable tunes and loads of alcohol. You're all invited. BYOB. π

I use a GK MB210 combo on top of a 2x10 extension cab. Punchy as a sack full of Klitchkos.

I thought Sir Mick Jagger's latest release was into a 29 year old ballet dancer.

I'm still facinated and interested in them after 50 years.
Stopped being relevant and interesting to who, you?

Yes. That's why I started the last sentence "For me..." -
Dirty old men, the lot of em. Apart from Charlie, who is quality. For me, they stopped being interesting and relevant at the end of the 70's, much like AC/DC and Status Quo.

I thought Mark King was rubbish. π

That's just to make sure that none of the participants snuff it before their turn.

Looked earlier to see what time it starts - 11:20 until 1:45am. Is that shorter than normal? I'm sure it usually starts around 10pm...

Blue, you can be such an old fart sometimes. Justin beiber is not the Beatles. However that is not why you don't rate him. The reason you don't rate him is because you don't get him. He is very intelligent and talented and relevant to the youth of today. You had the Beatles (good for you) today's kids have Beiber. He is as awesome to them as the Beatles were to you. Now you can dismiss the above with all the "you had to be there's" your breath can muster but it doesn't matter anymore because theres a new kid in town and his name is beiber and you don't get him because your time has come and gone. Let it be my friend and don't be a hater. Let it Beiber.

Are you Justin Bieber's dad? -
I'm going to check this out later, thanks for posting. π

Absolutely unimpressed by any of that. To be fair, it's not his fault that he's as popular as he is, it's the fault of the management that pedals this kind of mediocrity and passes it off as world class talent. There will always be a market for it as it's nothing more than product. I do my best to ignore this kind of crap but was intrigued that it had been posted on BC. As for him being a lefty playing a right handed kit, my son has been playing that way since he was six. π

Sad news indeed. I saw The Quo at the Isle of Wight festival this year with Rick, might have been his last UK gig with them. They played a blinder and looked great. RIP Rick.

Again, this list might change on a weekly basis:
Mark King
Flea
Robert DeLeo
Michael Anthony
Billy Gould
Pat Badger
Stuart Zender
Mick Karn
Michael Manring

Most of Elvis' songs were written by other people, most of Cliff's too.
I'm just playing devil's advocate here, but , unfortunately, sometimes it's charisma and marketing that make the big records big.

This. I don't mind a bit of Robbie TBH. "Lazy Days" is a great tune and so is "No Regrets". Definitely past his best but he has had a decent career. Kate Bush wouldn't have turned up to collect the award anyway. π -

Maybe try posting in the Items Wanted section here. Maybe someone's got one they didn't choose to use?

I will! Cheers. π -

This one was traced from the original.

We have the same bass. That's the look I'm after. Well - on the bass anyway.... -
Anyone know if replacement pickguards are available for the Sire MM V7 jazz bass? Fancy replacing my tort with a black one.

Used to own a Fender USA deluxe jazz V. 1996 50th anniversary model with the Suhr pickups, pau ferro board, crimson burst finish. Lovely bass that I've been thinking a lot about recently. Sold it about 9 or 10 years ago. Damn....
