Gary is a top bloke. Excellent stock levels considering the geology.
I will be back to see him and Promenade in Sept for a new rig, and I love my new Daryl Jones almost as much as Newcastle.
Er, that would be the geography, as in North of Watford ( sorry, been in studio all day, single brain cell now RIP.)

2.
The Gallery by a mile. Gary at Promenade Music is really helpful too, though they don't have the goodies that the Gallery do.
3. If the seller had had the decency to reply to my emails, and allowed me to go and see it, I would have been in for it as well.
Despite thinking it may have been a Mex re-issue, the lack of bullet truss rod end just got me thinking it may be real despite seemingly almost new nick.
It also got me to thinking it may be something like an SX with a new decal?
I erred on the side of doubt simply because he didn't reply.
It is such a shame that someone may have spent £700 and been kippered, but the seller really seems to have been ensuring he could claim,"didn't know guv".
Thank God Bass Chat is often influential with it's forumites when these potentially contentious basses come up on Evil Bay.

4. I was torn between one of these and the Lakland Daryl Jones.
Tried a few of both. Nothing really varied on the Laklands unlike the Fenders. I also found the Japanese reissues to be considerably weightier.
Ended up with Lake Placid Blue, matching headstock, rosewood board and pearl inlays on my beautiful Lakky.
Plays like a dream.

3. Thank you.
4. Brilliant! (hell's bell's was that film really 1975?)
5. Very special thank you. Now partaking.

6. Is there a gap in the space/ time continuum?
Has a nano bot chomped some words?
More to the point, have I missed something here? Er. like a post going awol? Has a BC'er won this bass?
What is the air speed velocity of a swallow?
Where is my Sanatogen?

7.
Someone got f***ed over by that jerk. I emailed him and got no reply. I'd like to punch conmen like this square in the nose for being utter stealing lying twats.
Completely agree dude, except I would prefer to use a knee a lot lower on the anatomy.
I emailed him to go view as I live close.
Got no response whatsoever so it really does look dodgy.
I hope this guy gets named in the ebay bit as one to watch.

8.
So even the fleas are finding stuff in their uncles attic now? Mind you, i think it's actually a MIM 70's reissue.
Yeah, I though perhaps Mex re issue.
Decent shots of the headstock, front and back, might have helped. Thing is, being altruistic, there is a chance the guy is selling it short.

If I do get to see it (no reply yet) will ask if he minds me taking the neck , control panel off, and taking pictures.

One can but ask, and I've been "nutted" before today!

Karl.

9.
Sorry if you're already onto this listing but it caught my eye. Made around the time I was born and save for the white scratchplate, it looks exactly like the bass I've been trying to replace for the last ten years... and I ain't got the money to bid on it.

The seller seems very unsure as to what they're selling, but if it's genuine and in good nick, you'd hope he gets his £300 back. :)
I live about 10 miles away and have e mailed him this morning to ask if I can go over to see it. The serial plate nowadays is all to easy to buy off ebay, could be a newish Mex reissue, although it does superficially look genuine. From those photo's, I would expect to see at least yellowing of the headstock.
If I get to see it my next task would be to convince him to let me loose with a couple of different sized Phillip's!
I will let you know.

10.
Indeed, photography is dear to my heart and it is full of forum members discussing the merits of digital over film , films dead ? shall I go for 14 MP over my my 12 MP camera ? Full frame or 4/3 format, blah blah blah blah blah.
I use 35mm and medium format film cameras, compact and DSLR digital cameras, horses for course non are worse or better than the other, I just take photographs with them.
I am beginning to think the bass fraternity is exactly the same. There are those who have have to justify and push their decisions on equipment on others and those who just play the damm things through whatever they like.
As I said previously a simple Line 6 GX with POD Farm and a laptop is an amazing tool that I use alot. Conversely I love playing straight through a simple practice amp be it valve or tranny or IC.
Shouldn't we just celebrate all this wonderful gear rather than tell each other we are wrong ? :)

And yes Jaco was a bit of an arrogant twat but then it seems to be a trait of genius ?
If I was a millionth as good as Jaco, I would be an arrogant t**t.
