I am looking for a very good conditioned Ashdown ABM 2X10, deep cab.
Unlikely I know, but I would do a strait swop. Same applies to a SWR Workingman 2x10, but they must be in excellent condition.
All my gear is in excellent condition and I am afraid I apply that criteria to any purchases/trades.
Many thanks,
Karl. -
This is the Ashdown Mag you want. If you are looking for a good quality, reasonable pub volume combo, you should consider this one.
Made in the UK, 2005. Excellent condition, only issues being some of the screwheads on the front are a little rusty.
220 watts as it is, use another 8 ohm cab to get the full 307 watts.
Very cheap, good quality, reliable amp. Only reason for sale is I have been fortunate enough to get a good condition SWR head, having heard one a few weeks back and just loved the sound.
I should be able to e mail the manual.
Apologies for photo quality, but I am not going to buy a digital camera just to photograph this combo on it's way out.
The bad bit.
£180 if you collect it.
If you live within 70 miles of Wigan, I will deliver it to you at a mutually convienient time, for £220 (I have a van).
Any questions welcome, but absolutely no offers on the above prices. It's a really good bit of kit that I am not going to give away.
Cheers,
Karl. -
Did he do a song called 'version'?
Sorry I couldn't resist, I'm a that sort of mood.
Sorry to hijack,
Marvin, you got a mention on Eggheads last night.
Paranoid android.
Bloke didn't know it. Pah.
Sorry, back to thread. -
Certainly is, but it's past my budget.
Bump and good luck.
Cheers,
Karl. -
If, in the fulness of time you do split, please let me know.
Very interested in the amp, but not the cab.
Cheers,
Karl. -
I would too,at £350, but I don't think Portsmouth is in the same time zone as Wigan.
-
Those Oval shaped markers on the 'board ring a bell, just can't remember why.
-
Presume this has been sold?
-
Shame, but no surprise.
Bump and good luck. -
Where are you based please?
Cheers,
Karl. -

Hi Fretmeister and thanks for letting me know.
I live in Wigan so unfortunately it's a long trek.
Best of luck, Karl. -
For Gawd's sake somebody buy this.
Do you have any idea how far I would have to travel from my mud hut/cobbled roof house in Wigan, to Kent.
Have you any idea how much more I am tempted each day? -
Sorry. I have probably missed it, but where are you based please.
I may be interested in the Ampeg.
Cheers,
Karl. -
A Geddy for 250 Euros?
Aye, right. -
Whats this changing strings stuff.
I've only been playing 35 years. -
Christmas '73.
Futurama jazz copy, £10. Plank with strings from newspaper round.
Went downstairs for my pressies and Ma and Pa had sold organs to buy me a second hand Marshall 20(yes, twenty) watt valve stack. Well, matching head and 1x15.
Saw one exactly the same on evil bay last year, starting price £2000.
Oops! -
Last November I went for my 1st audition for well over a decade, at the age of 51. Twenty years older than the rest of the band. I got it.
Then about 2 months ago I was contacted by a really good covers band. Went for the audition (one of 7 bassists), got it. Only 10 years older than these wonderful guys.
All this (plus other offers) because I put my details up on Forming Bands.
If you need to, have a little break, but keep looking.
You owe it to all the effort you have put in over the years. One joyous punter makes it all worthwhile.
Good luck whatever you decide. -
Sadly I was the "letting down" one in the band I left 6 weeks ago. My first band after a 5 year hiatus, only with them 3 months.
I honoured all booked gigs, did the studio ep (and paid my quarter) and promised to give my notes and time to my replacement.
I left because I was offered a 6 month paying dep job, 18 gigs (original bassist taking paternity leave???).
It's also playing covers material that I adore.
Sometimes, you just have to be an honest s**t. -
Don't use ParcelForce, they are useless and expensive.
There is a thread on Couriers and I always use Interparcel for UK and European Deliveries.
Unfortunately I can't take time off work (service rep) and none of the couriers have depots less than a 40 mile round trip for me.
Parcelforce at least have a depot in my town.
Oh, by the way, has this gone? -
Can you put some photo's up Stephen?
Cheers,
Karl. -
Hiya.
Sorry to trouble but,
1. Any photo's?
2. Would you be willing to send via Parcelforce?
Cheers,
Karl.
