1. Pics uploaded, only a month late! Sorry
2. Going to bump this up again. Must stress that this amp is now two years old but has still never left my bedroom! Collection/free delivery round NW only.
3. Hi chaps. Got an Ibanez SR300 in Roadster Orange Metallic for sale at £140, collection only from Wigan or I can deliver around the North West for no extra cost. Really comfortable bass to play on, I've had this for a touch over a month. Used it for 4 weeks of practises and then a gig, now I'm going to sell it on. As you imagine it's in excellent condition, no scratches or marks, all good to go. Quick Spec Neck Material: 5pc Maple/ Rosewood Neck Type: SR4 Body: Agathis body Frets: Medium frets Fingerboard: Rosewood Inlay: Pearl dot inlay Bridge: B100 bridge NeckPU: EXF-4-F BridgePU: EXF-4-R EQ: STYLE SWEEPER (SR) HW Color: Chrome Black Finishes: Roadster Orange Metallic Scale/Length: 864mm/34" The style sweeper is really quite nice and theres a great range of tones that come from the bass. Hoping for a quick sale. Carry case and strap included. Karl
4.
There was quite a bit given the half hour or so set, but they eventually did crack it. It was only noticeable to people like me who are dead anal about stuff like that, the people I was with only really noticed it when I pointed it out to them What did you make of the house bass rig?? I wasn't particularly struck on the sound it was putting out throughout the day. You could imagine what the different basses would sound like in reality though just by listening to the differences in sound.
The Hartke was quite honky even though I had the EQ set quite flat, my bass had treble rolled off, slight bias to bridge pickup and set to finger style on the Style Sweeper (more mids), I boosted the bass on the bass mid set but it sounded a touch muddy on stage and didn't want that to translate to the front. Never mind, eh?
5. Thanks for the kind words everyone! goblin - yea I stayed and watched all the rest of the bands, and they all sounded good. I hope there wasn't too much EQ tweaking during our set! Thombassmonkey - those bananas look insane! Oldgit - looking at the picture it would appear I need a lot more gusto in the jump, I shall work on this! jjl5590 - not sure what the head was (I didn't really look, just EQ'd and played). The 8x10 cab was indeed the HyDrive. Nice amount of punch but I think I'll always prefer the warmer tone of paper cones
6. Today my band (Inside View) played at Haigh Hall Festival (A local Wigan festival that has a full afternoon of local unsigned bands) and this year the stage was unreal. There's a week full of big name concerts next week (McFly, N-Dubz, Katherine Jenkins, Ronan Keating etc) and as such they had a really professional set up, certainly the best and biggest stage I've ever played on. I'm still buzzing now despite playing at 1415 this afternoon Here's a quick video of our opening song Judas, though I'm afraid my little jump at 3:04 is a little Busted (I appreciate the bass isn't prevalent in the mix, but it was a handheld cam and I had quite a honky tone ): Picture Perfect: Dumb:

8. Hey chaps. Got a Yamaha PSR-292 keyboard that's been sat on top of my wardrobe for nigh on a year. I'm not sure on the full specs of the keyboard (as its quite a few years old now), however, here's what I know: 61 full-size touch sensitive keys Two way stereo speakers (sub and tweeter each side). 605 voices (including drums kits and DJ sound sets) 135 accompaniement styles 100 demo songs 208 musical database settings (chooses styles and voices for you based on genres). Line/headphone out Sustain pedal socket (sustain pedal included, although it is a little dodgy, as it only works upside down ) Midi in and out PSU included. Music stand Carry case with full Yamaha documentation and songbook (for the 100 demo seongs). Foldable stand This keyboard is in complete working condition and could make a great first keyboard or even for a serious player. I'm asking for £55 collected for this (I'm not willing to ship), however I will deliver around the NW area for a bottle of coke. Cheers, Karl
9. Going to bump this topic back up as I want to get it sold
10. Ended up going for the CV Jazz. Had to order one in to the shop as they'd sold their last one an hour before I went in today (do'h!). Can't wait until it comes in
11. D'oh, tried an Ibanez SR300 in a shop today, and REALLY liked it. It had a great set up, felt really nice (body style) and sounded great too. The only annoying thing was being unable to anchor my thumb on the pickups (stupid curved shape). I realise this is a lot below the £400 budget, but I really did like how it had felt.
12. Definitely tempted to go for the BB414 or possibly even a Squier CVP Bass or Vintage V4 over a more modern sounding active bass. Less controls to confuse my amateur tone brain! CV Jazz is also a possibility as I've been listening to KC and The Sunshine Band a lot recently and can't enough of the bass grooves and tone in their songs! Struggling to sell my 6 string at the moment so this is going to have to wait til then, however I can't wait to get playing.
13. Which (if any) of the Vintage Modified Jazz and the Classic Vibe Jazz have a smoother, warmer tone? This forum is killing me there's so many basses I want.
14. The Yammys keep getting mentioned I've heard very good things about them. Will the 614 (being active vs the passive of the 414) sound more modern? As I say I've heard nothing but good things about their sound, however I find it hard to get over the 'Tellytubby' looks.
15. As I mentioned in the first post, I'm going to be using the Take It Away scheme so will be looking at a new bass (as obviously I can't get a used bass unless it's in a shop).
16. I'm going to drop the preference for a 5 string and stick with 4 for now, I need to learn my way around a bass and there's less worry about finding a bass with a suitable B string. So the V1004DX is definitely still a contender.
17. I've got a six now that I'm selling a little too much.
