  1. Is anybody confident enough using WordPress to help another bass player with a project?

    It'll be a paid project.

Please contact me for more details.

I would try to shove you over to Squarespace as my first port of call - user friendly, cost effective, loads of features, looks bloody stunning. There are others, or course, but IME, Squarespace provides the best bang for buck and even total web noobs can make a pretty looking site.

That was a great little tone box. I suspect the only reason it didn't get wider love was because it wasn't in a pedal format.

  3. Loads of bc'ers stopping playing, no judging obvs, reasons their own, still makes me feel sad though

I stopped for a while... but it was just a much needed break for inspiration. I thought it was forever, but it didn't work out that way. Hard to resist the call of the bass!

  5. Joy: realising that Crich Tramway Museum is only half an hour down the road from my holiday let. :D

Heartbreak: finding that yesterday was its last open day this year. :(

It's the kind of place that's worth visiting once. I'm not sure I'd go back again. Nice novelty though. Given where you are, you're also just as close to The Heights of Abraham too, which are also well worth the visit (at Matlock Bath, just don't go at the weekend).

Awesome news Dood! Great to see things flying. I've just started a new 'dream job' too... apparently it's the season for employment!

  7. The DR Black Beauties on my ska Jazz (not for much longer) are the worst strings I think I've ever used. The G was dull straight out of the pack, the replacement string I eventually got was the same, and they're going dead already after just two rehearsals. And they sound crap too. The only thing in their favour is that they look good. New set of Elixirs in the post as I write.

Crazy. I've moved to using Black Beauties on everything because they're by far the best strings I've ever used! ha. I've never used anything that stays that consistent tonally for so long... plus they look awesome and we all know that looking cool is the most important part of sounding good! :)
