1.
My Zoom 708 has the very thing you're after & funnily enough, it's called Detune. I bought mine for £26 of ebay & have given it to my mandolinist to use on her mandolin, but she's reluctant to use it!
I had a quick look at the Zoom website and it does seem that their multi effect pedals have the detune function so this could be a cheap option to get the sound I want. I'm not a fan of red or multi effects units but hey if it get the job done cheaply I can't complain :)

    Many Thanks.

  2.
the chorus on a digitech whammy might be appropriate.
Is the chorus on the wammy the same as other chorus effects? I have tried a couple and they dont give quite the same sound as the pug-in.

    Cheers

  3.
Nope - the pitch knob will move it up or down by a 3rd, 5th, 7th, 1 octave or 2 octaves (worked out from which Key you have the "HR Key" knob set to).

To be honest I haven't used it for any of the doubling up notes effects, just the tremelo arm setting, so I can press the pedal to make it dive bomb to an octave below.

Drat as I think it's the fact that the second note is slightly out of tune that is creating the sound I like.

    Thanks for your help.

  4.
I have one of these, which works excellently on bass. It's got a detune function, and the ability to mix this with your bypassed sound.

Not that expensive - probably a third of the price of the POG!
Cheers ritch,

I had a look at some YouTube videos of the PS-5, they were all demos on guitar sadly but it may do what I need, does it has a control for delaying (Latency on the plug-in) when the shifted note starts? Also is the pitch knob infinitely variable or click in preset increments?

  5.
Looks like this plugin mixes in a pitch-shifted voice rather than modulate the pitch like a chorus pedal does. The POG2 may be overkill but might do the trick:
Good point dannybouy it isn't a modulated sound just an added voice pitch shifted, the POG2 would be an expensive way to reproduce a free plug-in, I wounder if there is something a bit cheaper that does the same job, I have Octavers and they don't do it as it's a perfect octave, I need something that makes me sound even more out of tune on a fretless :)

  6. In Cubase I have been using the free plug-in by MDA called Detune on the fretless bass parts and really like the sound a lot so I was wondering what sort of pedal I would need to recreate this sound in a live situation, to me it doesn't sound like any Boss phasers, chorus or flangers I owned in the 80's.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  7. I was clearing out a cupboard today and found an Audiophile 2496 that I was convinced I had Ebayed last year! I thought I would offer it up on here first.

It's a few years old but is fully working, boxed with manual and the CD's that came with it but you would be advised to get the latest drivers from the M-Audio website.

I have no idea what it's worth so I'll start at £25 including postage.

  8.
I really like it but I'm not using it at the moment so probably best to move it on. I'd be happy to sell it. Once I'd covered customs charges etc, I payed £95 in total. I'd be happy to sell it on for £90 posted. There's 3 on ebay at the moment, one silver screw (like mine) which is up there for £130 so I think £90 is reasonable.

Let me know if you fancy it, feel free to make an offer if you think that price is a bit much.
I'm very tempted but best say no for now as I have just checked the post Christmas bank balance and it's not looking good!

  9. Hi, So you didn't get on with the CS-1 then? do you want to sell it or is it just trades you want?

I only have an OC-2, CE-2, CS-2 or SO400 I could offer up in a trade and I doubt any are of interest to you.

  10.
if it's still there on monday i'll take it man - need to wait till i gets paid!!!!

edit - dang, jumped on that a bit soon, never saw the london! consider posting at all?
Give me a shout again when you have been paid :) I'll see if I can find something to wrap it in at the weekend.

My main prob is I don't have the chance to get to a post office very often with big parcels.

    Cheers

  11. Bought from this forum secondhand it's about 540mmx320mm which is too big for my needs so I may as well move it on. it hasn't been uses and comes with a new strip of velcro. on the down side part of the felt on the right hand side at the edge has come away (see pic) I think it must have been an error in manufacturing as this hasn't been used, I'd say it was purely cosmetic and would not be a problem.

    Cheap and cheerful pedalboard.

I'd rather not post this so £20 collected from South London, Luton or anywhere between the two on the Thameslink line.

Feel free to PM me any questions.
