    I do believe that it is a thing, especially with the singers that I've worked with.

     

    Though as it's been said, they're the one's with the cajones to be the "focal point" of the band, so it does kind of take someone with a certain kind of ego to do it (and/or narcissistic tendencies).

    If you're not wanting too much from it, other than the stated, then what about the POD Go instead?

     

    It's a bit cheaper to start with, doesn't have the parallel processing, but it sounds like you don't need it anyway, and you can even have a few effects if you want too. Nowhere near as complex as the Stomp, but the same amp/cab models, most of the effects models.

     

    Highly underrated IMO.
