Do you have one?  Isn't it for guitar?

Don't have one, but I do like the look of them. If it's an FRFR, then it should be capable of handling bass as well as guitar. I'm assuming that they're just marketing them at guitarists because no one expects a bass player to be up to speed with digital modelling... :|

There don't seem to be too many bass-specific powered cabs available. Started a thread about it a while ago.

  2. IMO, generally, the things that appear in the Marketplace on BC are well priced. We are all gear-heads or we wouldn't be here, so we're savvy with not only what stuff tends to sell for, but also what kind of price someone would be willing to pay. I would really hope that no one takes the you-know-what with their pricing.

Haggled marginally for things, knocking a bit off here and there, free postage etc. but generally buying and selling for a fair price.

    Interesting…

I just don’t get the Babicz, as it only addresses one of the common complaints about the stock bridge/tailpiece combo, but not tail-lift and palm-muting (arguably it makes palm-muting worse).

It’s a shame they didn’t do a complete replacement unit.

If you are palm muting, then the Hipshot is definitely the one to go for. The Babicz is great if you want to keep the look of the original bridge unit, but are having issues with the intonation of the original saddle piece.

Definitely keeping hold of the Hipshot though, I have other plans for that.

  4. Was lucky enough to pick up a Babicz replacement bridge on here a while back, and finally got around to fitting it to my other Ric (replacing the Hipshot I also bought from here).

It was a bit of a faff, as the saddles needed to come off to fit the saddle plate, and then getting the saddles back in and adjusted, but once in and re-strung, intonation is spot on, and the string height is lower than it was with the Hipshot.

  5. Definitely try some different Stainless Steel rounds, Warwick Red Steels are a great, low cost option, and they do last. Used them for a while.

At the moment, I'm using D'Addario Pro Steels on the Ric, as they just sound so much better than anything else I've tried on it.

Dunlop Steels are good, Elites Stadium Steels are good. All depends on your budget. Try a few different sets and find some you like.
