  1. Birdhouse in Your Soul - TMBG
  2. I'm sure he would have been looking at the neck from time to time (not "constantly") regardless of the instrument! Hardly a critique of the bass.
  3. We can all offer our opinions but ultimately this is what it boils down to. Try as many as you can, even different scale lengths - don't be too hasty to write off basses that aren't short scale, nor ones with larger bodies. Bear in mind most (if not all) basses on the shop wall will be wearing cheap roundwound strings, even Hofners et al, so you'll have to do a bit of mental adjustment if you're after that old-school flatwound sound. You'll soon discover what feels right and let us know how you get on!
  4. Hole In My Soul - Aerosmith
  5. GAWJUS I've never found a Jazz that I've really got on with, but that front pickup tone with rounds and overdrive has always been one of my favourites.
  6. Oh yeah 🤣
  7. Take Me to Church - Sinead O'Connor
  8. I almost posted before but changed my mind as the pedal sounds awful to me... I always use some degree of overdrive but this one is not my cup of tea at all. Cool video though! 😁 Luckily the bass in Slipknot is generally inaudible anyway!
  9. I've played through one of these. It's an overdrive pedal. The name is baffling 😆
  10. This is an incredible song.
  11. Punishment - Biohazard
  12. Far too many to mention but these ones always get me good:
  13. Soapbar pickups are deceptive, there could be anything inside!
  14. My concern would be the pickup placement - on the OP's basses the pickup placement is very different on each, the copy has them set closer to the bridge.
  15. Old Brown Choux - Beatles
  16. In My Chair - Quo
  17. Geddy Lee but not when he's playing a Jazz.
  18. What's That Stink? - Zimmer's Hole
  19. I only know him for his distinctive keyboard playing.
  20. Hippie And The Skinhead - Peter Wyngarde
  21. The Masses Against The Classes - MSP
  22. The Crybaby Bass is an excellent pedal but does that distinctive bass-specific wah that only affects the mids and highs. I agree with @fretmeister, the Ibanez Weeping Demon is the best for me - it has a bass setting that performs like the Crybaby, but on the guitar setting it really screams and thanks to the EQ section it doesn't lose low end.
  23. Dude Looks Like A Lady - Aerosmith
