I believe the Roger Waters P has a maple-capped neck, which some believe gives a brighter, snappier tone.

Gorgeous basses. I too couldn't stand the scratchplate - they look the part but it felt like fingernails on a blackboard whenever I touched it 😨

I believe he did... Still very Rick bit with a massive low end. I prefer his Machine Head sound, a bit more clank and definition. But they're both cool!

That first one isn't Alembic. The second one? Well it's a little uninspired possibly but it's hard to go wrong with simple symmetry. It certainly suits the body designs it goes with.
