  1. Just purchased a practice combo from David.  A seamless transaction throughout with the item arriving exactly as described. Great communication, prompt shipping, and expertly packaged.

    Many thanks again.

How was my gig last night? I have no idea, I wasn’t there. It was the first one I’ve ever missed since this band started around 20 years ago. A dep was in my place even though I was fit and able.

Keen readers my remember I mentioned I had a colonoscopy a few weeks ago and the results weren’t what I hoped for.  I’ve since found out it’s not good news at all. There’s no easy way to say it, but it’s proving cathartic to share, so here goes.

It’s cancer, of the rectal variety.

I told my band mates at the time of the first investigation before knowing it was cancer that it will likely mean surgery and treatment very quickly, possibly before Xmas, so they had to organise cover in case I was out of action. The chap they got for a couple of gigs said he had other offers for the same dates, so had to commit, meaning I couldn’t do them whether I was able or not (unless was paid him off).  It was probably for the best though, my head as been all over the place the last few weeks dealing with this.

So anyway, it looks like a rough few months ahead. Radio and chemo therapies followed by surgery, and possibly more chemo after that. Oh and a bag atttached, either temporary or permanent.

Sorry to bring the mood down, but this is the thread I interact with the most with people I know. Besides, I’m still hoping to continue to contribute to the thread with any gigs I am able to do over the next few months, and long after once I’m cured and normality is resumed.

Hard to know what icon to put on that.

I hope everything goes right and you aren't put through the mill too much on the journey to recovery.

Keep gigging and share your stories.

I was just about to say exactly the same as @Stub Mandrel. Best wishes with everything and share as much (or as little) as you wish.

Saturday evening saw Rascallion return to our spiritual home of Anderby Village Hall. The atmosphere was a bit subdued, partly due to the heat which had kept a number of regulars away and reduced the size of the audience, but also in the knowledge that the RNLI and Coastguard were engaged in searching for a teenager who was missing in the sea just a couple of miles away (sad to report, his body was located in the early hours of Sunday morning).

After being fed and watered (copiously!), we launched into our usual opener of CCR's "Green River" with all due respect to John Fogerty who'd played the same tune (as well as several others of his / ours) at Glastonbury earlier in the day. Apart from a) forgetting to un-mute the amp as we kicked off (fortunately I was in the PA too, so nobody noticed the lack of bass apart from me and Mr Drums, and I managed to sort it a couple of bars in!), b) the usual couple of curveballs courtesy of Mr Singer (including an almost complete trainwreck in Steve Miller's "Rock'n' Me" which we somehow managed to salvage), and c) a few more minor incidents caused by sweaty fingers, we got through the evening OK, and even the new stuff we were debuting went acceptably well.

Gear was my 1997 CIJ Jazz, Trace AH200 head (acquired from @Deedee on here) and Trace BLX-110 cab, the usual Micro Thumpinator > NUX tuner > Ampeg OptoComp > Ampeg Scrambler > Ampeg Liquifier > Ashdown 12-band Graphic EQ/DI > Behringer DI600P DI, with charcoal Converse AllStars taking care of the footwear department.

Now, let's see if I can get a phone video snippet to load...

@tony_m  Very glad to hear the Trace is still alive and kicking and doing what it does best 👍

I just added up the 16 amps I have currently at my disposal and I wonder if I can honestly justify another.

But I really want one of these, have done for a while and this is a very good price (even allowing for your commission)

I haven’t gigged for six years, I have no intention of joining another band, but I’m still very tempted 😍😍😍.

    My two Stingrays.

On the right a 1977 which I actually sold 40 years ago in a fit of pique, not long after my then wife-to-be had paid a local jeweller to engrave my name onto the battery plate.  Aside from my own regret she has never quite forgiven me for selling it so we’ve been looking for this guitar ever since!  Well, we found it in late August this year, battery plate still intact, and I bought it back.

On the left is an Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray Classic that I bought in 2014 as the colour and appointments reminded me a lot of my original bass.  So now I have them both. 🙂

What a superb story. Congratulations on being reunited with your beautiful old ‘ray.

  6. Good stuff.

If you edit the title of your original post, adding the word ‘Sold’ somewhere within, the topic will automatically be locked from further replies and saves people having to trawl through to look at your final post to find out it’s sold.

  7. RS components do/did one that was suitable (you just have to trim the length a little).  Shape wise they were bang on.

The part/number when I last ordered some for a Mark V a few years ago was:

    Toggle Switch Cap, White

    Stock no.:125-3514

I’ve just put that number into their site and it’s no longer recognising that stock number.  It may be worth contacting them to ask what the new part code is. 🤔

All Trace stack with V6 head plus 2103H and 1153 cabs - all original drivers too. It sounds a little harder and a bit less hifi than the V4 / SWR combination but it's still great. ❤️

Great cabs, I’m sure it sounds immense.

  9. As per the title 4-string Hipshot A-style bridge.

This is the version with the string-through option and 3 fixing screws. Direct Fender replacement but using 3 of the 5 holes.

Condition is very good but as you can see in the pics, there is some discolouration to the bottom plate.

3 Screws supplied but no allen keys.

Price includes postage to the UK.

    EDIT - Weight 271g
