1.
I used to have a GP11 500w (stereo) head, well I still do. but that was bought (2nd hand for me, by sony uk ) as That band I was in, at the time, had a record deal and toured quite a lot. It powered a 2x10 (hi pass) cab and a monster 2x18 monster. it was the biggest ,best and most powerful sound I have ever heard!! it was all flight cased too so was only ever moved around by road crew at the time, so I loved it!! when the band came to a close I ended up stuck with it, when ever I did other gigs I had to borrow a van to shift it all about, so it became impractical to keep. I sold the cases for a tidy profit kept the 2x10 hi pass cab and gave away the 2x18 cab to a young enthusiastic basschatter who came up to the north west from bath to collect it, he was very excited and couldn't believe his luck. but it was a karma thing and was happy he was so pleased ( bet he doesn't have it any more!!) it was the most monster Bass sound ever and everyone should have the opportunity to have something like that, fantastic but impractical. I love trace gear and still trawl around here for old school cabs (4x10s 1x15 ect) love that sound it dates me but what odds who doesn't still love to see that Green uv glow on a dark stage? well, I do.
Sorry to resurrect a very old thread but just saw this and wanted to say that I was the enthusiastic Bath based bassist who collected Witterth's 2x18 trace elliot cab. I do still have it - Here is the most recent version of it! It has been around the country with me, played many gigs, been used in recording of two albums and been a reliable monster of a cab. Would also like to say a big public THANK YOU to Witterth for his incredibly generous act of letting me have the cab - it really helped me further my playing and experience at a time when I had no money and needed help. I hope one day in the future to pass it on to someone else who could use it one day!
2. Apologies if this the wrong forum or not the done thing but my band Valfader have just released a new EP on bandcamp that is available for free! It's of a stoner / doom / post metal persuasion if that's your thing? Thanks Matt http://valfader.bandcamp.com
3. I may be after one of the vbc cabs depending on price - would take which ever is cheaper as I'm a bit broke at the mo - pm me a price? Thanks Matt
4. I'll take the M Audio fast track please? PM me payment details Thanks Matt
5. Hi Conan, Thanks for the comments - I agree that Trace gear is not selling well at the moment. I guess it is seen as a bit outdated nowadays. I'm really torn with selling this amp - I need money but I've had this amp so long and it has been so good to me that I would rather keep it as back up than let it go for peanuts. I think I'd hoped a Trace Elliot enthusiast would have this - I have never seen a mark 2 gp11 like mine anywhere else and there doesn't seem to be much on the on the net!
6. Arghh - the impending festive season has dictated that I put sentiment to one side and put this amp back up for sale. Have been using it as a back-up amp to my valve amp, and lending it to optimistic bassists who turn up to gigs with no amplification!!!! Still working spot on and sounding lovely. Thanks Matt
7. Right - Impending child's birthday and Christmas means that these need to be sold! Maybe the best festive present? What says I love you more than not one but TWO cabs? Bump!
8. Weekly Bump! UncleMeat - I'm travelling down to London tomorrow - sure you don't want me to pop the cabs in the boot? Lol! Still for sale
9. UncleMeat - cheers - they have been brilliant cabs! Bump!!
10. Hmmm - could possibly deliver - pm me your address and I'll see how far it is and let you know how much I'd need for diesel? Cheers
11. The cabs are currently single jack inputs - so you would need 2 outputs from your amp to run both. The cabs are 400 watts each so should be ok with your amp - 1 cab should be ok with your amp - most gigs i did i only used one with volume about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way up - if you want to really crank your amp up then run 2 cabs which would be 800 watt The cabs are 8 ohm each - so 4 ohms when run together. I don't know what amp you run but if it is solid state it is likely to be 4 ohm minimum so one or 2 cabs are fine for this. If you have a valve amp - just make sure you match the power output tap to the ohms of the cab - 8 ohms for one or 4 ohms for two SOMEONE BUY THIS MAN'S BASS!!!!
12. jay freakystyley -I don't know if this is gunna incentivize you to buy the cabs or put you off but here is a pic of the full stack in action - was soooo nice having the 810 behind me on stage!! 13.
No such as Sidewinder 10s. G10-100s
Thanks for the clarification - Celestion G10 - 100's it is - sorry if any confusion caused I was told they were celestion sidewinders when I got the cabs - however I have never had to open the cabs up as they all work great and sound lovely!!!
14. Marshall IBS 1540 4x10 cabinets (that's Integrated Bass System, not painful stomach cramps brought on by abuse of wheat products). 400watts RMS 8 ohm 1/4" input I have two of these available for an awesome 4ohm 8x10. Here's the story for anyone who is interested. I had a 215 cab which I used for years and years and loved. When it finally let go I needed a replacement quickly. I bought these cabs off UncleMeat off this forum (really nice guy!). Despite my love for my 215 I had to admit these cabs were faaaar better. Much tighter low end and deeper mids - excellent when paired with my soundcity for the doom stoner rock I play. I used these cabs for everything and liked the versatility that having 2 410 cabs gave me - one for practice and smaller gigs then the double stack for bigger gigs - was great standing infront of an 810! I also won a battle of the bands with this set up and used it to record my band's ep so really rate them!! For some reason I had always avoided marshall for bass but was so impressed with these cabs I know have a marshall VBC412 itch I have to scratch so sadly these need to go. I hope UncleMeat doesn't mind but I'm using his pictures and a bit of description in this ad as I am being lazy! Both are a little tatty tolex wise, one more so than the other (see pics). I bought them with the Marshall logos removed as I think they look better without them.Tolex aside, they are in perfect working order. Very loud. Very beefy. Hard as nails. Excellent rock tone. Lots of lows, and it can also tear your face off. Simple port in the middle, no tweeter. Big and heavy, but if you're into those new fangled class D Lego amps you probably aren't even looking at this post anyway, right? Not pretty, not clever - old school brutes. These are quite happy with solid state or valve amps. As far as I know the drivers are Celestion Sidewinders. http://www.drtube.com/marshall.htm#IBS here's a link to the manual for the IBS range. Not up for posting these but could potentially wait for a courier that you organise and pay for. Also happy to deliver for diesel money within reasonable distance. I'm located in Bath (south west). Cash on collection preferred. 15. Ha - was a long shot! Could you pm me your work address so I can try and figure something out (may be able to ask a friend to collect?)
16. Yes - I would be VERY interested in that second cab - just got to work out a way of getting down to the south west! You aren't planning a lovely day trip to Bath any time soon by any chance are you?
17. Would you sell the cab on it's own? If so how much would you want for it?
