Well, here's the update. Dave watched that last video I made, and he experimented with another rm head. He's found the same issue in that one. He said he's going to revamp the rm range, and he's going to handle my return as well. Gotta say, I am very happy to hear that. I also told him to use a more linear output pot when he updates the line up.

I did contact them. Dave said that guy and George were making me a video on how to use the amp. I really just want a refund, or a repair.

I can't, for the life of me, make a red LED come on though. Even if I push it into actual clipping. Audiable clipping. To my best judgment, there is no actual clipping light on this amp. Just a noisy green one.

Okay, so I've got the problem figured out. It's not a clipping problem. It's even even an input problem at all. It's actually that the green LED is introducing noise in to the signal. The more intense it shines, the more intense the noise. I made another video. A DI one this time. Check it out.

Yes. That's my only issue with this head (that and the stupid taper of the output pot). It's an overly sensitive limiter. It's squashing my signal before it's even registering -10 on the VU. Through a speaker, it's not noticeable. But, through the DI, it's squashing and distorting my signal. Dave told me to exchange it. But, I bought it off their website, and I live in America. He hasn't gotten back to me again yet. Has anyone here tried to bypass the limiter yet?

I have the 12 and the 210. They're so nice, that I sold my 7 pro and my 412s, and went with the 210 combo and a 115hlf. Did a Mic Test on the 210 last night. Check it out Shure beta 52a, q-strip, and an aftershock.

Exactly! That was my problem! The Nordstrands, while they have that same quirky mid range, are a little heavy in lows, and a little too high in the top also. The Duncan SPB-1 sounded great, but the set just didn't go together right. It drops output, and I just couldn't get the sound I wanted. The quarter pounders are just too beefy, and a little dark sounding. Then together was just way too much of a scoop. The Delanos, again, didn't work well together at all. Completely different output between the two. But, by themselves, each one sounds great for a modern tone. Trash when used together. These, hit right on the mark.

Haha, yup. Yes it is. I've got the stock set in my jazz bass, and they have to be the greatest jazz pickups ever wound. So, when I was looking to swap out my Quarter Pounders in my PJ, I just went straight to Fralin and starting looking around. Glad I did. Sure beats buying and trying out 3 or 4 others, and not being happy. That adds up quick. This bass started with Nordstrands. NP4a and NJ4SE, then Duncan Quarter Pounders, then the Delano set with the 3/8 poles, then back to Quarter pounders, then a set of Yosemites, back to the Nordys, Duncan SB-1 set, back to the Nordys, now its got fralins. I'm happy now 😀 I'm done. Hahaha

What's great though, is that they don't do endorsements of any kind. Every single person who has a lindy fralin pickup in their instrument, paid exactly what you paid for them, or more. Depending on customizations.

Yes, that was the split to start with. I go back and forth in the video. They're a stock set. It's the "perfect balance set" with the split J and stock P pickup. To me, they're perfect. That P pickup is amazing. And the split J works very well with it.

Dudes these are like the perfect set of pj pickups. Exactly what I was looking for. Played on my ampeg rb112 combo. Flat eq.

Di, for bass, is the best way to get a clean, powerful, full signal to the PA. And, can be done at any volume. Guitar frequencies are different, and so much of the guitar tone is speaker break up and cab structure. Bass is bass. The cleaner, the better. Even when it's a dirty tone.

So, my pickups showed up today. I dig'em. They kinda got a solid modern tone. Like, a "studio tone" if you would. Slightly scooped. But, not dull and honky like other noiseless jazz pickups. Where they sound more like splits or humbuckers. And, they are very responsive. Fender done did pretty good with these guys. Check it out. Oh FYI, Apparently you do not need a ground. Like, at all on your bass. It won't hum any more or less than normal, and it will work perfectly fine all in all without it. Because, as it turns out, my bass didn't even have a ground connected at all. No wire ran. Whatsoever. And, it worked just fine in all aspects. Weird right? Learn something new every day.

They don't cancel eachother, there's a "phasing phenomenon" that occurs in all instruments with two pickups. In most cases, the hotter one wins (whichever reads less ohm) and you retain more of that one's character. But, the end result is ultimately determined by how those particular pickups work together. A PJ set (from one manufacturer, sold as a set) will work the best together. In all cases. Mixing and matching (either entirely different makes all together, or even purchasing a set as individual pickups) is always a crap shoot. Sometimes, you get straight garbage. Sometimes, you can't hear any difference when adding the bridge. Sometimes, it works out great. Phasing is a funny thing. When a set works together well, you'll retain the majority of the split mid range, and just add the treble and definition of the single. Or, manufacturers will make them scoop more mids out to simulate a jazz bass set up. It all depends on the pickups. But, to answer your question simply, Phasing JN

It was a 30 day ban for "trolling." someone responded to a post of mine, and I replied back. They called that trolling because it was off topic. I had a few points on my record already, so that one probably just put me over the "suspension" limit. That's all. Ban was lifted on the 23rd.

I jumped over here when they banned me a month ago. Now their building burned down. Coincidence...? I gotta say, I have had a good laugh, and a nod since finding out about it.

Sup Murphy? Yeah, they banned me from talkbass, so I searched around for another forum, and stumbled across this one. Basschat seems pretty cool. Same deal, but I have noticed that there seems to be an overall better attitude here. But, less interaction at the same time. But now, talkbass caught fire, so who knows when they'll start back up either?
