Thats me new Masterbuilt Charvel Star lol its a classic '78 finish, pretty marmite but think of Ziggy Stardust n it don't seem all that bad...really...hmm? Take my word for it haha. Plays like a dream though and sounds the biz plus the woods are top quality, just can't shake the GAS for cheesey LA hair metal guitars :blush:

I'm not intending to give up bass entirely, just got a lil too peeved at my hands being too small for 75% with the hand injury n so on but there ain't no guitar I can't play and I thought it might help my theory/inspiration. I've only played a John Birch Rickenbacker so i'm not so sure how a real one would feel, but tonally, that with flatwounds is where its at!

Agreed, I only like high output old skool pickups with flatwound strings. This makes me miss my EB3 . If i still played bass this would be gone and possibly defretted - at a great price like that who cares about modification!

I think this is a great little toy, brilliant to look at and my kinda sound too.

I got the pleasure of being the first BCer to deal with Flea's Disciple. I sold Callum my flawless Peavey Cirrrus with immediate payment following a polite and friendly phone call with his father. Just sold my G&L L2000 Tribute to Tom this week. It was the fastest sale I've ever had, the fastest payment I've ever had and a fantastic no hassle deal with quick polite response and communication. Tom's a true gent, just glad to have added to his great collection! Can only hope to have this kind of easy buying and selling in the future .

Aw, thanks for the comments! Definitely, I've just got a new main head to use with her, an ebs td650, lovely hi-fi tone with my accugroove cab! Turn up the bright control, and that Smith sparkle.. Oooh yeah! Had her for probably 6 months, blows me away every time its out of the case. Definitely worth every penny, so very proud, always wanted one!!

Hope the sale goes well anyway, phenomenal looking rig together really! I'd love to go for the whole thing.

I nearly went for the EBS (Versatile like the Genz!) but I went for the boomy valve option being a Jack Bruce fan, should really be playing an Ampeg or Orange but the weight would kill me! I'll make sure I drop you a PM if I do decide to split

When I played the bass it seemed like it was master volume/pickup volume/pickup volume; active/passive switch; and pickup selection...so probably 2eq on the 9 volt battery. I dunno, I found this:

Those things that look like a couple of Music Man humbuckers are actually an all new Leo Fender design, and they sport the patent numbers to prove it. Each pickup has eight adjustable pole pieces, making it easy to get an even sound across all four strings. The forward toggle switch (i.e., the one closest to the neck) is a 3-way pickup selector that lets you run either pickup or both; the toggle in the middle lets you choose between series or parallel operation. These two switches provide a wide range of tones, from gut-rattling deep bass to razor-sharp highs. The rear toggle switch lets you choose passive, active or active with a treble boost. There are rotary bass-cut controls, too, so the range of tone-shaping possibilities is fairly mind-boggling. Leo clearly didn't want to leave anybody's preference out.

The control cavity is accessed from the rear by removing six screws and lifting off a metal cover. The active preamp, which resides on a small circuit board, was recently updated for lower noise and better performance. It's powered by a 9-volt battery that's tucked neatly into a separate compartment alongside the main cavity. The wiring for the series/parallel switch, located in the center of the cavity, is accessible, if you're inclined to tinker, you could rewire it and/or attach capacitors to further vary the L-2000's sound. (Once again: If you don't know what you're doing, don't mess with it.) A copper shielding plate covers only the bottom of the control cavity.

I don't want to separate the prices until after the end of the year, gonna try and sell it as a full package. I'll have to work on getting some photos!

Ok, the neck is definately not a jazz because I don't get cramped on chordal stuff and its not precision because the string spacing isn't too wide for me and the edges are rolled. I'd say it was most similar to a stingray. I have small hands but its one of the few necks I've found comfy.

Regarding electronics I've just opened it to find a battery and I always thought it was just a two way circuit change but on passive electronics. I'm going to have to look into that for you and report back!
