Thanks Rob !
Is the bass zebrawood or walnut wings, maple top, flamed maple/wenge neck and rosewood board? -
That looks quality, does anyone know if we have to pay for customs when importing from the EU?? I thought it was the advantage of being in the union but i'm not so sure?
I used to sell these in my shop, even standard they are a very respectable bass and with these mods it's a no brainer for someone. Trust me.
+1 great build, nice woods upgrade the hardware and electronics (if needed) and your onto summit good. Bargain. -
Fresh New Thread
Up for sale in AS NEW mint A1 condition Genz Benz rig:
Genz Benz 750 Head inside lightweight Proel rack case + solid 5 button footswitch.
Genz Benz Neo 2x12T cab with cover.
...AND!! the funny cable that connects them. Woo!!
All bedroom use only. It has an output limiter so you can use it for practice (preferred it over my Roland Cube30) and it steps up to the big gigs of course. Really difficult to find 2nd hand - if you buy it, you will keep it and it'll make your other bass amps redundant like mine. American made, I think theres only two dealers in the UK that sell this model.
Hitting over £2k when new (with trimmings), this amp has a fantastic tight FET channel which is killer for funk and slap, especially when scooping the eq via pedal. I myself enjoy the classic old skool valve channel on a mid-boost setting for the fingerstyle stuff I play. You can also mix both channels for clarity and grunt (this is particularly good for a jazz bass this setting!). I bought this amp for its lightweight and versatility but my change in musical direction towards guitar has forced my hand to move it along. A real gem though, it will be missed...if I don't decide to keep it! 675w of beastly tone through a 4ohm cab, anything from Jazz to Metal without a stutter. Easily transportable, even with a bad back - the halfstack only comes up to my hip (i'm 6ft) so its nice and easy to fit in a car.
REASON FOR SELLING: I'm switching to electric guitar, thats all.

Do you have any soundclips? I'm not asking you to make any, just wanna know what it sounds like EB3 or Thunderbird if either

Nice one JMT

I'd never sell this, its like THE bass guitar. If I hadn't bought a guitar I would have had this on impulse buy and worked the finances out later. no regrets.

Why do I have a hairy arse?? Just kidding, is the badass II stock on these? -
Pedulla MVP or Pedulla Buzz if you choose to go fretless ) - easy necks too, Ibanez style.

Whats your budget? I started on a Warwick Rockbass Streamer, fantastic the only flaw I can think of was the boring colour finishes. Were I to start again i'd guess I'd go for one of the Squier Vintage Modified series.

Always thought this looked pretty much the best on the Shuker website.
Im no expert, but have seen comments rating some of the ric copies, not sure if there in budget, perhaps someone can confirm this
I owned a John Birch copy and despite it being really nice i'm a finger style player, the pickups were so hot if you touched the poles it'd crackle and the parallel string spacing was unusual for me at the low end. It would have been a smashing bass pickstyle however, no doubt, I just can't play like that. The basses I particularly miss are a hoyer EB3 custom build and a Kubicki Key factor among the stupid amount of basses I traded. I don't wanna spend a mass of money - £600 is enough for me I feel anymore would have to be custom shop/vintage gear. -
Only thing I'd add is a rosewood board, you should keep it n add flatwounds if it doesn't have em already.
-
I said I did like the colour, its sunburst/tort and rosewood. I don't like the standard natural maple one which is usually £850 give or take. There was a chap with a lake placid blue matching headstock one with rosewood that was £1100 recently also.
Lol, cheers for giving people an alternative, when im only looking for an estimate of how much its worth!
End of the day mate its your bass and you can sell it for what you like regardless - on here its going to be well researched before purchase, you'd be a moron to fork out £1400 on a whim or you'd have to have a soft spot for it. It says the bass was sold in July this year, so there won't be a great change anyway. You don't want an opinion, don't ask for it. -
Out of interest what colour is the neckplate? I thought it was black but it looks kinda pearloid-ish
-
If its second hand, £1400 is too steep - I would just buy a custom shop one and look past yours. Despite being a lovely bass, I don't like the natural ones.
-
Damn, got excited thinking it was that 8 string job, hagstrom gets me everytime
