Because i don't own a car, my limit to rehearsals has always been 1 hour with a bus and then +/- 10 minutes walking. Gigs - i don't care how far or close, because there is always somebody with a car who takes me to it.

In Tewkesbury last night at The Roses theatre. Capacity audience of just under 400 in this arts centre
probably dating back to the 70’s. Easy load in and set up, then a great Thai meal just round the corner
at the historic Black Bear Inn. Superb Pad Thai for a tenner, and some marvellous ales too.
Oh yeh, the gig - it went well, no problems, well received and that’s it really! Just about to set offto Swansea now for our gig there tonight at The Grand Theatre.
Nice cellists !

Right now i got 5, from which my most loved is Yamaha trb 5p ii, but the other ones are all with different sound. I don't think i could live with only one bass, that would be for me like a deja vu.

Against my own better judgment, I present 'Wishadelic Demotune', a mix of two of the great audible art installations of the past decade - namely, Psychedelic Tuning and the infamous Wishbass Demo from youtube.
I apologise in advance if this causes distress or genuine harm. It may be an idea to remove small children or animals from the room first.
I would call it a song nammed - "Welcome" !!!

Tbh, the clip I uploaded is the best bit, the other 19 minutes of him tuning his guitar is far worse.
Tuning guitar nice is a rare ART.

But Jaco only needed four strings to play a random series of notes, Nilo has a 6-string.
I never got 6, but 5 i love. Felix got 6. Donna lee is ok with 4 used.

This is what happened 2 years ago to me. I got auditioned by a pop/rock band - drummer, guitarist, keyboards, girl vocal. I came in to room, all looked very nice, everybody was setting up for the rehearsal. So it started - the girl vocalist said to me - ok, play something. I asked - bass solo, alone? Guitarist answered - yes, that would be nice. I said ok. Took some seconds to think what to play and decided to play Donna Lee. So i did it without mistakes in a good speed, thought - should be fine. Then the girl vocalist said - no......you are not good enough, you can leave now, goodbye. I packed and left. A bit of whiskey and all was fine again.

I remember my first funk/disco band crash 20 years ago. The superb vocalist (not the bands leader) made his Ukrainian girl friend pregnant and decided to marrie her and go to live to Ukrain. We couldn't find a match vocalist, no one sounded like we wanted to and it end up.

Best regards!

The leader of the band - vocalist started to declare more absurd and fanatic ideas than last year.

Something terrible has happened...
... I have a space on my pedalboard!
After receiving the GC Pro and doing a big reshuffle, I decided to take my expression pedal off the board (I always use one, which has always been on the board, and have another two which I use and and off, mainly for recording). The revelation of having the space can mean only one thing... it must be filled by one large, or two small pedals. Aghhhhhhh.
Given that the only thing I was truly lusting over was a WMD Protostar, and the chances of finding one are VERY low... oh what a terrible position to be in
You could always ask the leader of the band - vocalist.

Hmmm.....did not think that for some one it would be so hard to just write "friend" or ''bass''.Sad. 🤣

I'm actually quite content that you don't have an opinion.
Now if you could just stop having questions as well, that might keep everyone happy 😜.
Think of the question i wrote.....think of that you can't answer the question ?! Like it or not - it's your problem, because this is bass chat, not the chat about - did your mom brought you up right or wrong ! 😉

Simple questions - must always be smart answers right along. Keep on!!! 🤩

I’m kind of getting used to your odd questions, but what I do find annoying is your propensity to post them without including your opinion in the post.
Even for you though, this is an odd one. It sounds absurdly materialistic at best.
My odd questions......nice, thank you. Seems like your only preffered superb threads are DOI. Why i don't post my own opinion - because i don't have one and just want to get it from others.

If you hate your bass, why do you still have it?
Well, i think that some one could still love his bass, but at the same time hate for some specific reason.

My last band was looking for a keyboard player last year. So we got response - had played for over 40 years, sent some great pics with his home studio (4 different synth, 2 big mixers, 2 huge monitors, 2 big compuer monitors and a lot of different studio stuff). We thought - yeah, this is our guy, he should be good. We sent some covers to him and invited to rehearsal. He came with a good synth. So we set up and said - ok let's play Queen - I want to break free (easy and good to hear keys). He said - can't play live, the only way i can play is to record parts and then push play/stop button at the right time. We said - but did You listened to that song at home, tried to learn something simple ? He answerd - i tried, but i need much more time. So we played through all our cover songs, but he was just sitting and smiling and commenting - what could be done better for each song. We didn't call him anymore.
