If it's any consolation there a lot of famous bassists that don't get it right either...
I think those many bassists thought that it was wrong originaly and tried to make it sound better.

Exactly! I have this argument with our keyboardist every time we start learning a new song and he complains about it being too complicated or "produced". I just show him a live performance of it being different to the recording (Club Foot by Kasabian being a good example) and then he settles down.
That is the only way we can make keyboardists to let off steam.

I had worked at 2 biggest music stores at my country, together 7 years, but then right beside one of them opened a new store. As i needed a new strings quickly i called that new store and asked if they got them - the answer was yes. So i went to them and bought the strings. The sellers were smart and very anticipating. They said - go on and check our bass colection. I saw a 5 string MIA Fender jb and asked them if i can try it out. They said - sure, which amp, cab or combo do You want. I said - Fender rumble will be ok. So i played for 10 minutes. They said - maybe another one. I said thanks guys and went home. Next time i wanted strings, i called them again and ordered by a parcel way. Next time i called, they allready knew my tel.number and said - Hi Nils, what are You interested in...
Now i have used only that shop for pedals, strings and some different stuff. Always happy with a deal.

Yep, happening at the moment.
I grew up listening to The Eagles. I know every song inside out, and have a deep knowledge of all the bass parts.
…but then I joined an Eagles tribute band, and discovered I was very, very mistaken.
Did the drummer made You feel bad?

I don't think it's bad to play Your own fills instead of perfect copy, if You know the main structure.

As i said before, if You don't care for the country made and feel this bass ok for You - it's fully OK for You !

And what do they mean by "Europe" these days?
Geographically Europe includes the UK, Russia and Scandanavia, and anything in between. The "EU" is far more restricted.
That what i meant...they could easily been made in Estonia.

If you google Jet Guitars they have a website with their guitars and basses on with a bit of information etc.
My Bass was £329 so in the beginner budget range but in my honest opinion it is far far better than the likes of Squier, Harley Benton, Revalation and a host of other budget models, the workmanship and quality is excellent.
I guess it's ok if You don't care in which country it was made.

Rehearsed for an upcoming gig but sans keyboard as his son has been in hospital in Brisbane so he’s flown out to be with him. I’m not sure he’ll be back in time for the gig and half of us aren’t up for doing the show without keys because it’s quite important for our sound and ties many of the songs together.
it’s quite a small room and I couldn’t hear myself so well this time because I moved nearer the monitors which were carrying one of the guitars because the lockup where he keeps his gear was inaccessible last night. Luckily he had his pedalboard and a guitar handy but all in all it felt a bit of a bodge and I’m not sure what’ll happen next week - best case scenario the keys player is back the day before the gig, so no full rehearsal either way.
Bit of a tricky one because we don’t want him to feel bad or feel like he has to rush back.
Yeah...it proves that there exist a lot of things and situations more important than rehearsals and gigs.

Well - who cares - buys.

Know nothing about Jet, but it's a bit wierd that they make only 1 bass model -JJB-300 and at web page they write that all Jet guitars and bass are made in Europe - not specific countries.

I really want to get Stu Hamm…… but his solo stuff in particular just leaves me cold. I saw him with Joe Satriani many years ago on the G3 tour, and absolutely loved his contribution, but having listened to his solo stuff, including live performances…… I just do not connect at all.
Who do you feel you should like, but just don’t?
Just buy an unbrella.

Nothing is normal. Could be common 🤣
I find transposing keys is annoying. But only if it's transposed from a 'flat' key to a 'natural' or 'sharp' key.
and yes, songs sound odd to me if they're not in the 'original' key.
Lots of the Rush live material began to actually annoy me. Maybe that's because it feels wrong when singing along to it.
Virtual insanity , probably.

Yup! We called it referential pitch. Don't know its official name.
And yes, I've tuned instruments for like 50 years by listening to certain songs in my head.Gig a day

I know only that the leader of the band - vocalist, can always hear any new music in his head, but drummers sometimes got problems.

The most biggest concert for me was 15 years ago, when i was invited to play with Latvian greatest piano player and composer, now 88 years old - ''Raimonds Pauls''. Not sure if any of You will mean something, but wikipedia will tell You from A-Z.

I'm studying stage presence of the older rock guys. I'm stealing a lot from Tom Petterson ,bass player from Cheap Trick. Tom is 74, he's not all over the place like he was in his 20s but he still has a cool onstage presence.
This clip is pretty old.

That bass looks very interesting - from far it seems like it is a 12 string bass, but without whiskey it is surely 4 string. 🧐

I've done a ton of interviews, and not gotten the job for most of them. Sometimes because I did a really bad interview (which was the case for almost every interview for a good 3 years in my early 20s) and sometimes because they simply liked somebody else for the role. It can be hard not to take it personally, but them's the brakes (and them's the clutch and throttle too).
It will inevitably be worse when it comes to music and playing in bands, because there's no real expectation of fairness or that quantifiable metrics are going to seal the deal, more often than not, bands are going to want somebody whose personality fits with the band and requires little direction, and who is competent and reliable and all those other lovely things that I'm sure a million other auditionees could demonstrate.
I think the worst situation is to be sat with a hundred good options and having to find a way to whittle it down. Sometimes it's good just to be able to take a few and immediately say "absolutely not" and throw them in the bin, so to speak.
My worst job interview was when i asked too many questions about the job.
