1. When I was considering the rb7, I had lots of suggestions on a 1x15 to go with it. I know a few local bassists who gig that way and sounds good. Id like a 2x10 to go with my amp, do they excist?lol
2. thanks for everyones replys so far. Im looking for a OD that adds abit of grit, but not industrial distortion. the ibanez has some great attack modes which give a very puccusive(right word?) sound that I like, but the boss is tried and tested and used on lots of albums. in the band Ill use it with, I wouldnt need ott solo bass sound, but at home I would quite like to learn some of cliff(metallica) bass solos. so confusing..and thank you to the posters who gave me yet more choices;-)
3. Hi all Im considering either the ibanez pd7 or boss od3b both seem great so I cant decide between both:-) which do you have? which do you prefere? any other suggestions? Dont want mental ott od, but both seem possible at subtle to insane. matt h
4.
The thing about GAK is it's in a very popular town with a big music scene (and annoyingly large number of transient BIMM bands) and is close enough to London to even attract customers from there, and they're very big online. When I think off the investment in stock to have a shop that I'd be interested in visiting the start-up costs seem immense. More profitable than producing music though, at least you can't just digitally download a pirated copy of a guitar... Alex
BIMM bands? I understand the transient part:-) GAK are good example of how to do your business, regardless of what you sell. Look after your customers with good prices(while still making profit) and have good after sale support.
5. sound control fiasco? what happened there? I used to go to the stoke SC,got my epiphone lespaul studio from them one or two a*s in there:)
6. this weeks its musicals(wicked and phamtom of the opera) and all that remains:-D(6, this calling and air I breath...oh two weeks.brutal tracks) usually listen to whatever takes my fancy that day.
7. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xN_U2tD113I omg...this is sick, so impressive:-D not sure if its the right forum section for this. matt h
8.
+1 for guitarpro, allows me to learn stuff 5 times quicker than by ear alone. Generally the files are pretty accurate too, much more so than a lot of general tab files out there. Just wish that the mysongbook archive was fully accessible again!
I dont have the whole archive on my comp..its not easy to download via torrent at all...;-) yeah, a record lable(major one) kicked up a stink over copyright and they got shut down(msb.com) but you cant ban a program so the tabs carry on underground. google.com and search for guitar pro 5 and it should show you the official site...or (dont) torrent it.
9. christ...thats gorgous. the long horn is abit too prince for me, but its custom so id have that sorted;-) why 2 9v batterys? pickups and eq? some(all?) of the ibanez SR basses are passive pickups/active EQ so thats why I say that.
10. download guitar pro 5, and then google.com and search for "song title"+"guitar pro" and it willfind some awesome tabs.best program ever you download a tabfile thats a few kb and you press play, it then plays a midi version of the song with all the tabs for the instruments playing.easy to learn with as you take the volumn of the bass down and play along, or take the volume of the rest of the band and boost the bass. if you like it, buy it.if not delete it:-)
11. mike was much cooler when he used ibanez ;-) if I hadnt just spent most of my student loan on gear...lol anyways..nice guitar, someone buy it *bump*
12. Im a sucker for women in tight leather 80s pants...add fender to that:-) hehe Joking apart, I dont think its objectifieing women. All women are gorgous, some physically, some mentally, some spiritually and I dont think its a problem to say "you know what, shes attractive to me as a potential mate". Modern "man" has a problem where we supress natural prime urges/feelings.
13. yeah, im new to bass but from experience.....stacks are a high% pose. Properly miked up..you could gig with a 10watt practise amp(within reason and skill of soundguy) no backline?like using DI box instead?
14. thanks danny.though so(about using the chorus pedal, or similar stereo output). Im guessing some amps are better at lower notes than others, same with amps being better at high notes so using two would have a really phat tone?
15. Lots of stadium level bands use more than one head at a time, and fieldy(korn) has lots more than this After/while the one guitar player from mastadon is ill, the other guitarist is running his guitar thru his amp/cab and his ill mates. If anyone knows...how do you do this? what product? I wont want to do this, just curious really:-) Do any of you do this? why? thanks matt h
16. ps TFM were awesome, only heard recordings as never had money/time to go to gigs then.
17. um, there was alot of emotion males with acoustics hehe, before that um....we had cancer(carl stokes and crew)
18. I knew your band.if your russfm from the fatal mistake that is:-) left telford...to west brom.hehe. joking, dont mind the place myself, go to college there. dont mind telford either really.its what you make of each place you happen to be. the music scene isnt great thou, theres um....the haygate, and um um um
19. lol@craig. I guess you have experience with selling on forums and how annoying it is. well, heres a free bump:-) what you replacing it with?
20. I have the rb8(same amp but with 15inch speaker)...Ill say the rb7 is also an awesome amp:-) someone buy it!:-D
21. wow..gorgous.who is the signing by?
22. the bassline for joe satchs "if I could fly", easy..stupid easy but fun to play along with satch (on cd..lol)
23. the elan the 60s lotus? I met one of the lotus designer from the 60s while working in shrewsbury jessops. Wanted a copy of a bw photo of a old lotus with 3 men around it. I saw it and said "I love the old cars, they had class and were just awesome" to which he replyed "thank you, I helped design it,thats me*points to him on photo*" ....now I dont get star struck but I suddenly went very nervous around him while talking cars for a min.busy shop...but who cares when you have this guy in front of you? hehe
24. right... I think you are allowed to make copys of material you own(dvds, music etc) so you could keep the original in top cond. now I know you are not legally allowed to sell said copys..but um...giving away...im not sure. your not passing it on as your own and you say they are not producing the mag anymore?your not making any profit, if anything..your doing it at cost to yourself(min wage per hour, time scanning, electric bill etc) um.....at the end of all that..I have no idea but please send a copy to [email protected] ;-) for um..legal research of course:-)
25. I have a 1.3mini(1990) and even thou im selling her..I love her:-) I need something with more power and more relable.lol.and needspace for camera gear/bass rig. id love a cat7.....
