  1. Fodera Monarch Deluxe 4

Selling this Fodera Monarch Deluxe 4. This item is relisted after a withdrawal to restore it with original EMG pickups. It was equipped with Bartolinis when I received it.

    Specs:
    Redwood Burl Full Top
    One-piece Honduran Mahogany Body
5-pc Maple neck with Bubinga (?) stringers
Ebony board with Abalone dot inlays
    34 scale
    Black Hardware
    19mm spacing at bridge, adjustable +/- 0,5mm
    EMG P/J pickups
    Pope preamp
    Weight: 4,32 kg /9.5 lbs
    non-original case

This bass has a retail price of >10.000 USD (+shipping and customs). The bass comes with a non-original case. This bass is from the pre-mass production era from Fodera.

Action could be setup extremely low without buzz. The sound is extremely explosive and responsive - as always with this model, but with an organic element in it, probably coming from the Redwood top or the added laminates in the neck.

The bass has some very small dings, otherwise it is in excellent condition. Only one thing should be mentioned: There is a crack in the middle of the Ebony board in the upper frets area. This has not moved since years and the frets are still even and fixed, but should be mentioned here. A local luthier confirmed that this is only an aesthetical flaw but not a structural one. I have priced the bass accordingly to reflect this issue. One of the pics shows the crack - a little more exhibited by photo effects.

    SOLD

  2. Alleva Coppolo RA5 Olympic White

Just bought this amazing rare RA5 here on basschat. Unfortunately it has the newer body shape from Jimmy Coppolo, and I found that I don't feel comfortable with it. I already play 2 older Allevas which I like more. Sound strange but therefore I consider to part with this again so soon. My loss is your gain ...

Very lightweight, straight neck, very low action (if desired), fresh Elixir Steels. This AC plays like a charme and sounds really great.

    Specs:
    Olympic White Nitro finish
    Maple board with black dots
    34 scale
    19 mm spacing
    Original Alleva electronics (passive otion)
    Original Alleva Pickups
    Original Alleva/Hipshot B Bridge
    Weight: 4.2kg !
Birth year: around 2012, neck plate does not show the serial ...

Comes with original Alleva Coppolo gigbag.

Frets, truss rod, electronics ... everything works perfect. The body has 2 dings on the upper side. Look at the pics please, the dings came with the bass to me.

The newer Alleva Coppolo bodies are thinner, but wider, probably to be more F****r-compliant. I personally do not really like this - many others prefer it over the older shapings.

RA models are sought after among AC players. They are finished in Nitro and with their Alder body, Maple neck and 70s pickup spacing they represent the early 70s JB approach. Allevas are for me the best and most authentic Fender clones in a lightweight, yet full and responsive sounding package.

  3. I am re-listing my Jule Demonique rack mount amp - looking for a new home for this amazing piece of gear. I purchased this unit at the end of last year at bassgear and since then I kept it in my home, playing it from time to time at low volume, so it is virtually brand new.

These wonderful sounding amps receive thousands of enthusiastic comments from US players at talkbass. And indeed it sounds so juicy and meaty, especially with old Fenders as I never heard before (and I tried a lot of high end tube amps). Although I prefer the flexibility and cleariness of my Solid State Epifani stack all the time - which is a totally different animal. This Jule amp should be played instead of collecting dust.

The De-Monique is the rack version of the famous Monique all tube preamp, combined with an embedded Demeter Minnie 800D amp, providing 800W raw power in a comfy lightweight package.

Pics will follow. The amp is discontinued now and now offered as Jule Monique 700 - with a different power amp unit.

    TRADED

  4. I have seen lower grade models going for more than my asking price. May be the Single Coils or the 21 frets are not to everybody's taste because they seem to limit the player's options. Be sure that the Fodera Singles sound more open than Duals in Sngle mode and the 21 frets are much more than most of the players out there are really using, besides the fact that the shorter board allows a different slap positioning, resulting in a fatter slap tone than with 24 frets.

    Of course - YMMV ...

  5. Just traded in this great Fender Jazz Bass Custom Shop '64 Relic Dakota Red, but I am not planning to keep it. So here it is for a lot less than I traded it for.

    - Dakota Red Nitro Finish, Matching headstock !
    - Light relic, really tasty
    - Rosewood board with dot markers
    - Small vintage frets
    - Truss rod works perfect, truss rod screw still flush with the neck end and obviously barely used
    - Perfect straight neck, no ramp on the upper 5 frets
    - White three-ply pickguard
    - Build Year: 2013
    - Weight: 3,96 kg

The bass plays and sounds like a charme. Very low action. Lots of the 60s Jazz Bass growl. The bass is in MINT condition - besides the factory relic. Everything works 100%.

OHSC, original certificate and case candy included.

    SOLD

  6. Just traded in a wonderful Ken Smith from Alberto. The deal went through smoothly - the bass was described by him in every detail and is in fantastic condition.

Top seller ! Would always deal again with him.

  7. Selling my breathtaking Tobias Signature 6 pre-Gibson Zebrawood Serno 13xx

    Specs:
Highly Figured Zebrawood Top and Back
Walnut Core with Ebony accent laminates
Walnut Neck with Purpleheart and Wenge Stringers
Pau Ferro Board, no markers, 24 frets
    17mm spacing
    34" scale
Bartolini electronics (Upgrade 5.4AP with same features but including active/passive switch, original harness is included)
Bartolini pickups custom made for Tobias (top radius according board)
    OHSC

This is a fantastic example of Michael Tobias' work before the production was moved to Nashville by the new Gibson owners. The serial 13xx is not really "pre-Gibson" as Michael has already sold his company around serial 10xx, but until serial 2044 the basses were manufactured by his own team and therefore considered as "pre-Gibson".

These basses were the "Foderas" of the 90s. Extremely pricey and sought after over the world for their sound and build quality. This particular bass has a very smooth, warm and a wonderful "jazzy" tone like an ES335 guitar and plays as easy as even possible. Very low action, medium weight, comfortable shapings, narrow spacing and 34" scale make pure fun.

At 2 areas there are about 1cm wide "foggy" spots under the gloss finish which may come from some humidity during finishing process. These are common for Tobias basses of that era. Some scuffing on the back but no dings anywhere. the bass is in excellent condition including frets.

The bass has dual truss rods (really 2, not only one double action truss rod !). The neck has been asymmetrically shaped on the back - giving a very smooth and familiar feel for the left hand.

The original circuit has a broken treble pot and was replaced by the current version 5.4AP, which works better (EQ knobs are less influencing each other and there is a passive option). The original harness is coming with the bass too.

    SOLD
