  1. Selling a rare Smith BT6 with an amazing Bubinga-Top.

    Specs:
    Figured Bubinga Top and Back
    Mahogany Core
    Walnut Laminates
    5-pc Through-Neck 34"
    Ebony Board
    18 mm Spacing at Bridge
    Built 1990
Original Smith Electronics, Pickups and Hardware
    Original Teardrop Hardcase

The bass has the typical "real" Through-Neck of the early 90s, which means there is no toneblock laminated on the back of the neck when it runs through the body. This requires more effort (and wood) to implement than the later toneblock version. The neck is the typical flat 90s profile which allows fast and easy playing even with a 6-stringer like this. Later Smith necks became more chunky.

Sound is as you would expect from that Masterclass. Hear the Patitucchi videos from that era to get an impression. The B string and the response to dynamic fiungerplay are outstanding.

The bass is in good condition, some Dings on the body especially at the body "pin", a rubbed off area at the upper body side - hard to see, look at the pics. Frets are top, Action is low, gold hardware is only slightly faded and still shines. Only Minus: Someone has drilled a hole into the body close to the output jack to install a 3rd strap pin.

    SOLD

Considering trades with cash either way against Ken Smith Elite 5, Fodera Elite 5/6, Alleva Coppolo LG5 CSL non-sunburst, Fender pre-CBS. Nothing else please.

    Specs:
Bolivian Rosewood Top with SAPwood parts
    Walnut Body
    3pc Ash neck
    Alder Toneblock
    26 Frets
    33" scale
    Ebony Board
    Extended B Headstock
    Matching Headstock Back + Front
    Fodera Pope Preamp
    Aguilar Pickups
    17,5 mm spacing at Bridge
    Weight 5440 g
    Built January 2016
    Original hardcase included

Neck is straight and Action is low. Everything works perfect.

  3. Selling my Ken Smith BT6 TNV - Black Tiger Vintage - built 2011.

    Specs:
3pc body wings with Figured Walnut Top and Flamed Maple Core
    5pc through-neck with 24 frets, Ebony Board, 34"
    Gold Hardware
    18V Smith BMT electronics (Vol/Bal/B/M/T plus series/parallel switches, push/pull act./passive)
    Weight 4,9 kg
    18mm spacing at bridge
    Built 2011
    With original hardcase

Condition is very good. 2 things to mention here:

    1) On top of the Body back the finish has been slightly rubbed off at the upper edge,

    2) on the headstock something happened with some Kind of a poly drip, not sure, it was there when I got the bass.

The neck is super straight and allows fast playing with low Action. Frets have only minor wear. Everything works as it should.

    COA comes with the bass.

  6. Selling/Trading my Alleva Coppolo RA5 in Black.

I just bought this bass from the first owner who got it brand new in October 2021. Condition ist absolutely like mint besides a truss rod repair (see below) and a light wear on the pickguard at the slap position.

Here is the original ad of the previous owner: Ad from previous owner

I decided to stick on my older Allevas which have a different body shape than the newer ones. So this is for sale again. Nothing wrong with it.

    Specs:

Alder body in black Nitro finish
Maple Board with Abalone (!) Black Blocks (very nice)
34 scale, 19 mm spacing at bridge
Genuine Alleva pickups and electrics (V/V/T plus bass reble boost-only active EQ, active/passive option)
    70’s pickup position
    4,3 kg
incl. Original Protec Gigbag, like new

In spring 2022, the truss rod was repaired on this bass because the anchor below the first black block was broken so the neck could no longer be adjusted.

This work was perfectly done by a well known luthier here in Germany. He carefully extracted the first block from the board and welded the anchor back to the truss rod with 4 instead of the 2 original welding pins. Afterwards he remounted the black block. I believe the truss rod is more stable than the ones on other similar ACs now !

Now everything works fine again and the bass can be set up and played perfectly. The truss rod anchor is fixed bombproof and the neck moves according to truss rod setup. The first block has now some wear from the extraction, but it does not affect playability.

No stage, no studio, just played at home. The condition is top - even the electronics cover is still protected with the original transparent foil. No dings or scratches - only a slight scuff on the pickguard near the slap area. Brilliant slap sound with a very good B-string.

Asking 3000 GBP (3400 EUR) plus shipping from Duesseldorf/Germany. The repair is reflected in the price.

Open for interesting and reasonable trade offers. With cash either way if required.

  8. Selling my Tobias Classic 5 Fretless (Mid-90s Gibson years)

    Specs:

    Alder Body
    Walnut Top
    Wenge Plate
Lined Fretless Ebony Board with wooden lines
34 scale neck, 17mm spacing at bridge
    Black Hardware
    Weight: 4210 g
    Original Bartolini pickups and electronics
    Serial: 74xx
    Build Year: 1996
    OHSC

A wonderful singing fretless from the mid-90s era, when Gibson still produced the Tobias basses according to Michael Tobias' specs. This bass still has the features of the famous pre-Gibsons models: double truss rod, curved pickup covers, asymmetrical neck, the very good Bartolini circuit ...

The bass has no damages, but a discoloration on the body area near the bridge (look at the pics). Besides that the bass is in top condition and feels smooth and nice, the board has no wear from roundwounds as it has been played with flats.

For sound samples search for early Yellowjackets albums with Jimmy Haslip on bass.

    SOLD

Extra points for the THG knobs - Binky has THG Knobs, Tuners and Truss Cover, I can vouch for the exceptional quality of Roger's work.

+1 ! The knob holes fit the pot shafts exactly ! I waited since 20+ years that Fodera managed to source a high quality or even a matching set set of knobs. Roger fills the gap.

  10. Selling my Fodera 6er:

    Specs:

    Ash Body
    Olive Top
    Birdseye Maple Board
    Satin finish
34 scale neck, Extended Headstock, Black face dots
    Gold Hardware
    Lightweight Hipshot tuners
    Custom wooden THG knobs (Ash/Olive)
    Weight: 5170 g
Duncan Dual Coils in Maple Covers
    Pope preamp (standard version)
    String spacing 19mm adjustable
    Serial: I628xxN
    OHSC

Low action and comfortable to play ! Custom wooden knobs made by THG - the original metal knobs (gold) will come with the bass.

Yes, the bass is huge and heavy, but as a benefit it provides a super dominant sound that won't be lost in any mix !

The bass has been played but very well cared for - so there are no obvious damages or scratches. Only the bridge shows some fading from palm muting play. That's it. Frets are in top shape.

  12. Selling my Alleva Coppolo KBP5 Classic in Oly White

    Specs:
Olympic White Nitro Finish with Matching Headstock
    Indonesian Rosewood board
    Alleva Pickups, passive circuit
    Vintage Alleva bridge
    Tortoise Pickguard
    Dunlop Straplocks
    Lollipop Tuners
34" scale, 19 mm spacing at bridge
    Weight 3820g
    Build July 2009
    Noname case

Larger area of dents on the back from belts. Some dings around the body. Jimmys Nitro finishes are not really reliable… But the neck feels great and all playing wear is visible only with a closer look. Technically everything works perfect. The frets are even and have a lot of life left. The action is low and the bass plays exceptionally easy.

Typical Fenderish PB sound in a 5er model. This is my last PB model from a huge amount of Allevas I own and owned. It is the best. I simply prefer my JBs.

    Bartolini pickups and electrics
    Dunlop Strap Locks
    Black Hardware
    Serial 20xx
    Weight 4620 g
    Original MTD Hardcase

Top condition. Only the bridge shows some minor wear from palm muting and on the neck back there is a small area of black shadow from a stand. Besides that the bass would pass as new.

Very low action, very comfortable to play even for a 6er, everything works as expected, no dings. Frets are even and still have their full life on them. Fresh set of Elixir Nickel strings mounted. I can add another also fresh set of DR Hi-Beams (Steel) for free which I checked out on this bass before the Elixirs.

  14. Selling my crazy good LeFay Remington 5. Unfortunately I can’t manage it without fretlines.

    Specs:
    Body: American Cherry
Neck: Padouk, Scale 86,4 cm (34 inch)
Fretboard: Stainless Steel 27 "frets", Ebony binding, fret markers and side dots
    Finish: Acryl Satin
    Bridge: Le Fay
    Pickups: 3 Le Fay Singlecoils
    Cockpit: Volume, Bass, Treble
    6-fach Pickup-Selector
    Passive Treble
    Build Year: No idea
    Weight: 4210 g
Bag/Case ? Don’t know really. Have to look in my garage.

The Remington is an exceptional sounding fretess bass, plays quite easy (with talent). The steel board doesnt sound metallic in any way. From jazzy fusion sounds to amazing sad MWAH you can achieve a huge bandwidth of great fretless tones.

Condition is absolutely top, besides some playing waer on the board, which is not affecting sound & feel.

    SOLD

  17. With tears in my heart I am offering this exceptional bass because I am not able to manage 7 strings properly. I haven't seen any MD7 in the past 20 years here in Europe - and these basses are not offered anymore according to the website of Ken. Even more rare is the 7-string with the 7pc neck option together with the 5A Flamed Maple Top. This particular bass is shown as a Flamed Maple showcase on Kens website since decades.

I imported the bass from the original US owner, who kept this bass in the case since he bought it. It is ABSOLUTELY MINT.

The action is super low, the sound is incredible deep and crystal clear, yet providing that organic snap exclusive to Smiths . Everything works fine.

Asking 7.500 Euro plus shipping from Duesseldorf/Germany. I could be intersted in trades but only at reasonable trade values and against these brands:

    • Ken Smith Elite
    • Fodera Neckthrough
    • Alleva Coppolo
    • F Bass
    • Fenders <1966

+ cash either way if necessary.

Please do not offer anything else. Thanks.
