  1. The Nt4 is not what i am after. Although i am after a pair i may from time to time wanna use them seperatly.

Ill look closer into the c02. I have never really used the samson mics but there is something about them that seems a little cheap.

edit: £64 quid a pair?! No, i don't think these are gonna sound that great or last....

  2. Nothing specific. Just a small x/y pair really. The first application will be a clarsach (scottish harp) but in future will be used for room mics, acoustic guitars, percussion etc etc....

Just want something small, cheap (ish) and reliable that sounds good.

Check this book out, i have it and use it and its brilliant:

Literally the best bass book i own. The tracks in it are tough but very very rewarding and musical.

ps - last month BGM had some cool advice from Dave Marks in it too.

pps - the cab is awesome :)

  4. Asking whats better:

    PC v Mac

Pro Tools v Logic v Cubase v Nuendo v Everything else

Reason v Kontact v Everything else

is much the same as saying on this forum, whats better:

    P Bass v Jazz Bass v Stingray

    Trace v Ampeg v Ashdown

    Boss v Aphex v Line 6....

But people do get wound up about it.

ps - pro tools and mac all the way :)

  5. Those studio spares NS10 clones look cool. I thought the point of the NS10's was that they sounded pretty crap? Therefor for reference monitors they were perfect for comparing your mix between systems?

  6. MXL 603s.

Some reviews suggest it is super bright... The 604s has a pad switch which would be helpful but i dont think they come on their own.

    opinions would be great.

  7. with the likes of the api or neve you could just bin your pre.

The Funk - you played with any the drawmer valve compressors? I used the 1968 dual valve fella the other days and it was lovely. Really subtle but effective compression. It amazed me that, the more you spend of compressors, the less they sound compressed and sound more natural if you get what i mean.

The S3 looks like it should be in a Tank. Hell, it probably was....

    Awesome piece of kit that

    Again.

Now, although these cost a fortune, i bet either will be the last thing you will ever buy being up there in some of the best studio outboard money can buy.
