Yeah, real, check out the brochure link I posted above.
This one also only shows JJ, PP, PJ and P basses, no PPP ones

Yes, I checked it out. I can see a slanted double P and a slanted PJ but not a slanted triple P

Interestingly I emailed guitar guitar and fender UK as I saw this on Facebook and it was not being released in the UK. USA only, had an email today to say they are now on pre order.
Look great 😃
PMT list them too now. Does not surprise me as Andertons, GG and PMT have (or had, don't know) a buying consortium called GAP

How many is that so many? I think I could count about 10-12 basses in this video with the ones hanging one the wall plus a few that is on the left side rack. Mind you I've never seen any other videos of his nor am I familiar with him so maybe I'm missing something.
But anyway, you just need the right number of Spectors, right? 🙂
Quickly checked his channel. 45 reviews between April and November plus several first impressions videos that will be followed by review videos at a later stage.
Yes, would be great to get Spector basses sent to me for first impressions/review videos. Much better than buying them. My bank account and my wife would appreciate it too 😉

Is it just me or does that anniversary bass with the silver sparkle body and headstock look totally out of place with the pale, plain maple board?
Yes, something did not look right and now I know what it was. 👍

Just found an older FB page dedicated to the original Boxer series : https://www.facebook.com/fenderboxer/
Thanks. Cool stuff. The first one with the 3 slanted pickups looks killer. Is that one real or someone's Photoshop dream?

I wouldn't read too much into his reaction. As much as he is trying to be neutral, you just have to look at his recent videos and his wall of basses to know he is a huge EB Fanboy and Spectors are very different to EBs.
Good point. I like this guy (except for the claw gimmick) but I don't understand his business model. How can he have so many basses? Has he won the lottery? Does he have a shop? I can see that he has a reverb shop but without any listings. Does EBMM (and/or other companies) pay him? I also want to have so many basses 😁

Yes, that always confused me a bit, but the Jazz Bass Special comes from the Boxer range, of which there were quite a few different models, with slanted pickups, P styles, J bass styles etc etc along with a range fo Guitars too I understand.
Quite right, it is a Jazz neck on a P body with PJ pickups - That's the bit that makes it "special". I really love the configuration! It's different!
Also correct, Duff's original bass, the pearl white Jazz Bass Special was based on the 80's models, however his arrived with a precision profile neck. Whether or not that was a mistake or intentional, Duff didn't seem to mind and that's why his Mexi signature model has a P neck on it rather than the Jazz neck - so, essentially, his signature bass is just a PJ precision without a pick guard. Things become even more confusing as Duff's new model has a pick guard and is advertised as the "Duff McKagan Deluxe Precision" , yet on the headstock it says "Deluxe Jazz Bass Special". Err, is it special in that it has no jazz in it at all now?
Any idea why they call it "Boxer"? The headstock says "Jazz Bass Special". Why not call it just that? A PJ with a P body, without a pickguard and with a J neck = Jazz Bass Special. Simples.

Saw both the red and green ones on GG's website. Here is a link to the red one:
What I don't get is that it says "The Boxer Precision Bass" in the text but "Jazz Bass Special" on the headstock. The nut width is 1.5'' (like a Jazz) but the body looks like a P. And why "Boxer"? Confusing 🥴
BTW, isn't that the one Duff McKagan used and that his sig bass is modelled on (in white and black and not red, of course)?

This is the best anniversary p bass yet
https://www.guitarworld.com/reviews/fender-60th-anniversary-precision-bass
Yes, for the 70th anniversary I also expected them to release something that looks more like a 51 (but with some modern elements). Well, maybe that will be released later in the year. The two new basses officially celebrate Fender's 75th anniversary. However, the P bass is also turning 70, so they may release (a) model(s) to celebrate that too. Maybe later in the year. I think last year's 60th anniversary Jazz basses (MIA and MIM) also got released in July or August. So, let's see.

GG also lists them now:
I agree, I also expected something better for the 70th/75th anniversary. Both look a bit meh. Maybe there will be more? Will check out Fenders virtual booth at the virtual Winter Namm next week.

IC. TBH, "CBXNT DX IV" is a fitting name for such a [censored] bass 😁
What were they smoking?
Ok, the finish of the green one is called "Absinth Frost", well, that explains a lot 😉

Did some googling, looking for the 70th anniversary P bass and found two Fender 75th anniversary P basses on the CME website. The first one is the "Fender 75th Anniversary Commemorative Precision Bass 2-Color Bourbon Burst" and the second one the "Fender 75th Anniversary Precision Bass Diamond Anniversary". Looking at the prices, I guess the first one is MIA and the second one MIM. You can find the specs here:

That's confusing. This one is also called Pro Series Spectra Bass SBP (IV instead of V) but looks totally different from the ghoulish green and red ones. How come? Could they not come up with different names? Did not even bother? Oh dear.

The spectre is a different model - apologies, I was too busy gipping to crop properly
Please don't show us any photos, I am already feeling sick 😉

I totally dink it. Can you dink it?
BTW, Melissa is 6th in SBL's "The 8 Greatest Women of ROCK Bass". So, show some respect 🙂
Check her out from 04:54 onwards.

This is really bad, beyond bad, actually. Spectra? They should have called it Spectre. That's what it reminds me of, a green spectre. It will definitely give me nightmares. Thank you, @AndyTravis

A belated Happy New Year to all Spector fans!
Looks like the low end lobster got his claw on the brand new NS Pulse. Judging from his reactions; however, he does not seem to be overly impressed by it (especially when you compare it to his reactions in some other videos, e.g., the one in which he is checking out the EBMM Cutlass).

Music doesn't need belief. And even if it does, believe in what? The only context I can think of is gospel and if the intent is to appeal to musicians of faith then it seems like clumsy, maybe even patronising example of value signalling. Please tell me I'm mistaken.
Good points. As I said, I have no idea what the marketing people had in mind. Maybe they just thought it sounds good or maybe they were Cher or Journey fans 😉

There seems to be something very deliberate and calculating about the use of the word "believe".
No idea what the NAMM marketing masterminds had in mind. What do you think they mean by it?

I am not a Fender fanboy either (don't have a single Fender bass) but I am interested in their history. Looks like they tried several different models over the years (e.g., the Dimension bass most recently) but somehow customers always only want a P or a J (and, to a lesser degree, a PJ).
