Spector fans, in case you have not seen it over at No Treble check this out:

"The Spector custom shop team was on hand with some fine examples of their work. They also brought some prototypes for Doug Wimbish signature basses. The four and five-string models will be replicas of Wimbish’s own basses that he had customized by Stuart Spector many years ago. They have some unique features including an unusual volute shape, a super thin neck, and hot pickups."

Well that has fair upset me.

Three new colours for the Bongo and they're all crap. Lime green? I'm a middle aged man with prostate issues, not a skateboard kid in a punky ska band. If it was Seafoam Green with a maple board EBMM could have my money right now. Or Fiesta Red or something else a bit more classic.

EBMM Blood Orange is essentially Cherry Sunburst ( not my thing)and Titan Grey is not my cup of tea either. What a waste. And presumably the Bongo is excluded from the custom options they are threatening for the Stingray Special.

Sorry to have upset you. However, good news is that the green one is not called lime green but "mantis green". Any better? 😉

It's also a bit disappointing that EBMM have started treating the Bongo a bit like a ginger haired stepchild. Only two crap colours and one pickup configuration available ect. Ironically, the Bongo would look great in some of these new finishes.  I love the Bongo and would  cheerfully buy another if EBMM would make the effort to tempt me.

Looks like they have something to tempt you after all:

3 new colours for the Bongo: lime green (don't know which fancy name EBMM will give it) with maple fretboard, blood orange (with rosewood fingerboard) and one in satin grey (called titan grey)

New features: maple fretboard on the lime coloured one (first time ever, according to AJ), oil and wax finish, and stainless steel frets

2 new Darkray colours too: dark rainbow and gold bar.

    @Eldon Tyrell

    Well that sold fast!

I saw the sellers post this morning that he'd put your old 1200 on Reverb. Clicked the link all excited and it was already sold. Only listed last night.

To be honest it was a bit steep for me as an impulse buy but must've been a fair price to sell so quickly.

It did look fantastic though. 😍

Back in October, BassBros sold it very quickly too, one or two days, as far as I remember.

Maybe the price was too low. I think it was £1k.

    Thank you.

Yeah, I cant understand why this hasn't sold. Its in such good condition and new they are about a grand more! Maybe its because the ads been on here for a while? I have had a few time wasters and just listed it on Reverb so fingers crossed!

Let's hope you will find a buyer on Reverb. I can also recommend BassBros and BassDirect. Both have successfully sold many of my basses (over 20), incl. several Spector basses (NS-2, Forte, Euro and Legend). Yes, they take a 20% cut but they take good photos, put the bass on Reverb, deal with the unavoidable time wasters and organise the shipping. They can also demand higher selling prices than private sellers.

Very nearly bought this after trying out at BassBros. Have thought about it often since! Great bass. GLWTS.

Same here. Was several times close to buying it but my bank account always said nope. I think I have to keep on window/screen shopping 😉

    GLWTS 👍

Those knobs are highly sought after and a source of major annoyance if they go missing. If you know, you know...

Exactly. I got the bass from the Bass Hunter in Japan. So far, he managed to find "one" replacement knob. I asked him to keep on looking for a second one and then send me both together to save postage costs. Well, I don't need them anymore but whoever buys the BB, now you know that you only need to find one 🙂

Please feel free to write to Danny if you want the knob. I paid for it (¥2,154, March this year) and I am happy to donate it to the new owner of my BB. Merry Christmas 🎄
