  1. Slightly off-topic... I remember reading an interview with Sting in Bassist or Bass Player magazine in the early '90s. He'd been telling his wife, Trudie, about Jaco and she assumed he was Irish because she thought his name was Jack O'Pastorius.
  2. Somewhere, an oven is missing its control knobs.
  3. What a coincidence - John's two Electric Bass tuition videos are what made me want a BT6, too. Mine is pictured here. Here are the specs: Length: 1127mm. Width: 366mm. Body thickness: 36mm. Headstock width: 100mm. Nut width: 54mm. 24th fret width: 92mm. Bridge width: 117mm. Weight: 11lbs 5oz. Star sign: Virgo. (Or at least, Ken's quality control test is dated the 6th of October 1993.) Is this enough detail to 3D print one? 😊
  4. My serial number is 1100. So I'm guessing that means Ken was producing close to 100 basses a year around that time.
  5. This is my Ken Smith BT Custom VI that I bought from The Bass Centre in Wapping in 1994. A year later I bought a copy of The Bass Book and got a nice surprise when I saw a photo of it inside. I've spent thousands of hours playing it over the past 25 years and have enjoyed every minute. It's an amazing bass.
  6. I've been a fan of Joe's since first hearing Big Bad Moon '89, so I know this tune well. I got to see him play at Poole Arts Centre in '96, and I can still picture Stu Hamm starting his bass solo wearing a big fake rubber thumb.
  7. It's "Speed of Light" by Joe Satriani. It's from "Time Machine".
