P pickups liberated from two different Japanese P basses. Set on the left from an early 80s Fernandes P Bass. Quite high output. No idea of brand. Right hand set from a Greco Spacey sound. The bass itself was built in 1980 at fujigen factory but again I have no clue on pickup origin. Some folks out there I'm sure will know. Both appear to be original based on the wiring when swapped out. £15 per set posted

Not sure if anyone can help. A friend of mine helped me fit a P and a J of the entwistles today. They sound fantastic....amazed at how much of an Improvement they are. Obviously my stock pickups weren't up to much esp the J. Quick technical question though..... When we were fitting them..... the magnets came off the P pickup and we didn't pay too much attention to how we reattached them. After fitting and testing the d and g string sound amazing on the P pickup but the E and A are much quieter. Is that possibly to do with us reattaching the magnets the wrong way? Thanks. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Thanks both for your replies. Good point on the fretboard markers too. Hadn't even noticed that.

Hi all I'm mulling over buying a bass with PJ pick ups. I've not got a huge budget but the ones I'm drawn to are the Fender Aerodyne and the G&L SB 2 Tribute. I read both are great basses. So just wondering what the thoughts are of folks out there that have played either/ both. Overall the SB2 seems to more reasonably priced and easier to get hold of at the moment but that's not a deal breaker. Thanks all

Paul C replied to foya's topic in Basses For Sale
I recently bought a bass from Enrico and i can say he's a great seller and a nice guy. I was worried about shipping from Italy to the UK but he made the process v simple and and sent me lots of updates so I could see how it was packed etc and how to track the shipment. I can't afford this particular bass tho 😁 -

Hi all. Having not bought any gear for decades I'm trying to get a cab that's easier to transport to gigs. Obvious choices are Barefaced and Markbass. I'm liking the idea of a 2x12 set up and the Markbass 212 caught my eyes as it's easier on the wallet than a Barefaced supertwin. All the Markbass demos I can find online are from Technical players with a jazzy or funk sound which is not my bag so wondering if anyone out there is using the Markbass in more of a rock/ post rock sounding band? We r a three piece and play with FX and over drive on the bass lot. I tend to roll a lot of the mids and treble off using my brilliant, but extremely heavy, ashdown ABM 500 4/10 combo. I don't have any good music shops in Manchester these days to try things out and a trip to Brighton to GAK or Bfaced adds quite a bit of cost. Any advice/encouragement appreciated. Thanks
