  1. These are not LEDs... indeed that was quite an expensive option!
  2. It comes with a mini-USB cable for re-charging!
  3. The LX5 is not nearly as nice... regular GPS Streamer LX5 but simply with all black hardware on white cream. It has a Wenge fretboard on an Ovangkol neck. Today I heard that it's ready too! Teaser photo attached...

  5. I have an old Warwick Chrome Tone LX5 (2004) with bronze frets, which has been very well played, and they are still in great shape. It's a special bronze alloy... supposedly longer life than nickel ones: http://www.warwick.de/en/Warwick---Company--Our-unique-instruments--Our-necks-and-fretboards--Our-Bell-Bronze-Frets.html#current_site_id
  6. Ha! Yes, my original request was for black pickups... I literally said, "Tell those Germans, 'Alles schwarz. Sehr, sehr schwarz!'" and somehow the brushed metal ones snuck into the spec sheet. In retrospect, I think that was for the best... it looks really sharp like this. I'm very pleased.
  7. Alright, I discovered that there are more photos on the Warwick Customshop website...
  8. Oh, and can't see from these photos but the Ebony fretboard is paired with a Wenge neck (number of laminations = n-1, so for LX4 this is 3).
  9. JP is the standard pickup configuration for Warwick Streamer LX4...
  10. Yeah, these are teaser photos sent to me from the intermediary. Bass is still making it's way to me from Germany now... I asked them to send me a few photos.
  11. Well, the second one that they are building for me is LX5... but it's not black.
  12. Warwick just finished building my custom Streamer LX4... Flat black body, Ebony fretboard, Ebony keys, black hardware, brushed-metal MEC pick-ups, brass nut and bronze frets. What do you think?
  13. Thanks... it was just a joke. I found that it makes for a nice end-table.
  14. FYI: Amazon has them on sale for £36.99 right now... that's a really good price for these, I think.
  15. I just put some D'Addario nylon tapewound strings on my Warwick Streamer. I'd never tried any strings like these before and I normally play with roundwounds. These are silky smooth to the touch... like playing with a silk glove on the hand. Very warm and thumpy. I tend to be a fast and heavy pick player, and was worried that I would simply tear them apart when I play, but they seem to be really robust. However, the tapewounds are a lot more quiet than the roundwounds that I just took off... but I have a GK Legacy with 800 Watts and there is plenty of headroom... so I just turn up the volume. It's a bit of an experiment, but I have to say that I'm quite pleased with these strings at the moment and they gave me a very good first impression.
  16. I had to leave a band that I had been in for many years and really loved... I was moving away to a different uni. I put off telling the guys for weeks and weeks... and then one day when I was alone with the drummer I spit it out. The drummer then broke the news to everyone else. It was still far enough in advance that I could continue to play shows and help train my replacement. But after I left they went through bass player after bass player. Must have been 4-5 of them in the span of about two years. Eventually they all split up and went their own ways.
  17. I'd like to attend as well if that's alright. I could bring a bit of gear such as my GK Legacy 800, MXR M303 Clone Looper pedal, Warwick Streamer Chrome Tone LX5, and a second Warwick Streamer Masterbuilt (if it's ready by then... it will be an LX4 with Ebony fretboard, Wenge neck, jumbo bronze frets and a brass nut).
  18. This was my setup for the Legacy 800 test... in addition to doubling up my hearing protection! I did turn the volume all the way up at some point. Crazy loud, but the head does indeed sound excellent.
  19. Yeah, it sounds pretty good so far... but the neighbors definitely wouldn't be loving it fully cranked... so headed out of the house this evening to do just that.
  20. Andertons has these in stock now... mine arrived on Monday (Legacy 800). I'm headed to the rehearsal space this evening to throttle it up... I have two GK 410 RBH cabinets that I can plug into it.
  21. I really like the sound of my 2004 Warwick Streamer CT (Chrome Tone)... Ebony fretboard gives it a very bright sound.
  22. I wrote to Polar directly (distributor for GK in the UK) to ask about the delay, and they replied: "We’re due to be shipped all of our Legacy stock at the end of this month, which means they should be with the shops by early Nov. Keep your eye on that availability, it should update shortly." So perhaps another month or so on the Legacy heads here in the UK.
  23. OMG, why???
  24. I had ordered a GK Legacy 800 with Anderton's, and was expecting to receive it on / around Oct. 10th, but then received an email from Anderton's that the delivery has been moved to Autumn 2020(!). Anyone know what happened? Is there a design flaw in the circuit that needs to be fixed? This seems like an unusually long delay for a supply issue.
