Damian’s version of The Time Warp makes my eye twitch. The song is bad enough, but he is the cause of everyone, everywhere, that has gone to a wedding reception in the last 33 years, getting the dance wrong!

I was at a wedding reception once where you had to walk down five or six steps to get into the room. I was returning from a trip to the toilet and was at the top of the steps, when I noticed my parents right at the front of  the crowd doing the Timewarp. They were the only ones in the room who didn't know it. 😳

Vive la difference !!   as they say in ...somewhere.   As the wonderful Sheryl Crow said ( she's fabulous live, ask me how i know )  " If it makes you happy, it can't be that bad  "

    Carry on Cici.

Well considering their website was therapyquestionmark.com...

Oh, and I met Dana briefly - she was absolutely delightful. As for Therapy? probably the nicest people I had the pleasure of working with in my record company days.

Ahh, yes. i forgot about Therapy's logo 😄

I was asked to play in a country band and even though I really wasn't into country, the female singer was exceptional which made all the difference, so I decided to join.

I'm still with them and enjoying it, 6 years later, even though I still don't listen to country unless it's to learn a new song.

But then I'm also in a blues band and I never listen to blues.

I was, until recently, in a heavy rock band and.......well you guessed it.

Do you even like music? 🤣

The classic example is of course “Shot By Both Sides” by Magazine and “Fast Cars” by The Buzzcocks.

Less well known, but apparently using the same backing track is “Ca Plane Pour Moi” by Plastic Bertrand and “Jet Boy, Jet Girl” by Elton Motello.

Was it not "Lipstick"? Devoto and Shelley had been working on some songs and Pete gave him the riff.

    Cici here!

Well, sadly I can’t help being a girl, and I have long hair because I like it. It has nothing to do with my playing, and I’ve never rested on my looks to gain followers, nor am I interested in anyone who does.

I take great pride in being the best musician I possibly can be, and it’s about the music for me.

I also dedicate a lot of my time to trying my best to help other people pick up the instrument, sharing any info I have, and seeing where I can push the instrument in my solo bass jams.

I’m not interested in being an ‘instagram girl’ so please don’t diminish me to that, and take the time to truly look at what I do (whether you like it or not is fine). Thank you. :)

Welcome to the forum @CiciBass 😃

It is all getting very excitingly real!

The paperwork has gone through and I start in my new role on Monday 7-Aug; this is unthinkably fast being just two weeks after I received my official job offer, but it wonderfully exciting!  They are ordering my uniforms (yuch ,,, I've been in scrubs for 4 yearwhich are easy and comfortable!) and a name badge.

I'm a little sad about travel to work tho, taking the train would cost about £9 a day, even when using a season pass.  The hospital has a park and ride which (If I can get a permit) will cost £15 a month, even taking into account car costs (Tho I would continue to have a car so some of this is already taken into account) and fuel for the 16 mile daily round trip I'll be much better off not going green :(  Even if I end up paying for council parking, I'll still be better off driving ... it's mad!

    S'manth x

    Get yourself an e-bike.

An interesting topic. I consider myself an introvert too, sometimes behaving like an extravert. It largely depends on my energy level.

And here's the thing: if the gig is good, then you're not only sharing your energy, but also receiving a lot from the audience too. And the better the gig - the stronger the flow.

So that means a gig should be really good. Otherwise think of it as just another rehearsal with your bandmates when you're getting paid! :)

When you are onstage, you are playing a part, rather than exposing yourself (not like that, unless you are Iggy Pop or a Red Hot Chilli Pepper).

....and doing an amazing job! 😁

I'm the recovering player - two retinal detachments and a vitrectomy in my left eye. Had a single one in my right in 2017....never thought I'd go through this again.....

Sad to be missing some cracking gigs, but many thanks to Martin for stepping in and doing brilliantly. Legend! 🙏

Blimey. All the best for the recovery.
