Perhaps my favourite MonoNeon collaboration.
I repeatedly ignored it as a YouTube suggestion because, well, because it's The Flintstones theme tune. How interesting could it be? 🤔
Turns out it's pretty darn amazing. The drummer is also a badass...

I gave up halfway through, so maybe missed the Good Bits. Bland, fake Steely Dan soft sell for lift shafts for me; sorry.
Tough customer... Harsh!
Lots of poor, bland music out there; not sure this fits that description, even if you put the matter of personal taste to one side.

A restrained Mono-Neon... Dope!

Surprised nobody digs this!
Is it 'cos it's in foreign? 🤔
-
Pretty sure the cows were just milking it with that exaggerated reaction...
-
Personally, I think he needs to beef up his tone.

And also to my playing... 🤔

Been practicing this for the past hour and my fingers are ready to fall off!

So much good 'new' music out there, if you look for it. Fortunately, my tastes are forever expanding and I find I'm appreciating more and more over the years, not less.
In fact, lots that I did listen to at 14 I have virtually no interest in now.

Basschat introduced me to Mr Dart and his friends. It was only a couple of days ago and already I am entirely smitten. I don't know where I go to sign up for life membership of the church of JD but man count me in.
Probably me again as I'm always sharing their stuff 😀

This video is a massive hint for them to be booked for a Tiny Desk concert.

OK, a few more from me...
the bassline on this is killer! So good:
Now, ladies and gentlemen, you've got to hear his... This is exciting... And one of the grooviest basslines ever 😎

Perhaps I am cheating again since I posted this the other day... But my current favourite.
It's been a real motivator in terms of trying to get anywhere near that level of accuracy... Metronomes are a necessity, for me, least 😁
And it's damn funky!

A bit more Jamiroquai.
Jamiroquai's first album was actually a bit of a turning point in my musical tastes. Before that I was mainly listening to rock and metal, this helped me to realise that there was so much more out there.
Plus the bass was phenomenal.
I pretty much play this every day... As in, on the bass.
It's a lot of fun, and such a great tune to play along to.- 1

Jamiroquai's Space Cowboy with Mr X. Just wonderfully creative bass playing..Miles better than Zender's effort. He's just using that basses range to full effect.
Most of Stuart Zender's basslines are just awesome.
Both Emergency on Planet Earth and Space Cowboy are excellent albums. -
Then: I was sure I'd be playing in a famous rock band 🤔
Now: I was sure I wouldn't be so broke and with such a big mortgage still to pay off 🤔

Snarky Puppy-esque, although a bit more boombastic.
The Soul, Funk and Groove thread.. Pete Academy's original thread part 2.
