Not at all. That's pretty much how I feel about this: https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Epiphone-Thunderbird-Vintage-Pro-Bass-Alpine-White/1X0O
I just wish I had £500 I couldn't find a better use for!

Sometimes GAS needs treating... Perhaps as a Crismus gift to myself 🤔

If that's wrong, then most of us are also guilty.
Thought as much!

Is it wrong that I want a Fender '60s Jazz Bass in white with a Tort pickguard just because it LOOKS the business?
I'd obviously play it too.
They so nice.

Great bass line on this one.
Whilst this tune predates any of their stuff, it kinda reminds me of Talking Heads' style of 'funk', particularly that found on Remain in Light:

The thing is though, the OP is claiming that's not what he meant, which I find disingenuous at best. If you want to make a leery, boorish nudge- nudge type comment about a girl on a publicly visible forum (which I think is the real point here), at least have the balls to admit it. Or possibly just keep it in your head where it belongs.
I don't have to admit anything to you, nor do I care if you find my comments disengenous. That comes merely from your own ego and judgemental nature.
Everyone else here, and I mean everyone, has at least been able to convey their point without being adverserial or opinionated about it, unlike you.
You assume to know better, when you really don't.

This is all getting quite boring.
People taking offence for no reason and on behalf of others.
I actually think the bickering here is far more off-putting to all forum users than any offence that might have been taken.
I'll invite the mods to decide the nature of what has been posted and take action as needed, and let that be the end of it.

I've committed myself to no new gear (amp or guitar) within the space of 12 months 🙄

If we can manage to keep the comments about her bass playing it might encourage more female players to join.
Jus' sayin'
(I really like a Yamaha too)
Precisely.
Firstly, I am not responsible for what others post.
Secondly, had people clicked on this post and seen a video of a guy playing the exact same guitar, there would be no accusations, nor any suggestions that the post was 'misogynist'. The assumption would have been that the guitar was the focus of attention, along with the playing.
How many GAS posts exist on this forum where there is the insinuation of attraction or desire over an instrument?
Not a single person would think 'Maybe he is in fact objectifying the guy in the video' 🙄
The only factor being considered here is that it just happens to be a young woman featured in the video. Does that alone make it 'misogynist'? The fact that there's a young woman in a video means the post must be about her and her appearance, and not about the instrument or the playing?
And even if there were to be acknowledgement as to whether she is, or is not, attractive, is attraction now also misogynist? It is wrong to be attracted to a member of the opposite sex who also happens to share in one of your favourite things, whilst doing it so well? That's another debate altogether, and not one I'm not getting into, but doesn't seem to me to fit in with the concept of 'misogynism'
Anyhow, it's a post featuring a video of a girl playing one of my favorite tunes on a rather nice bass.
Enjoy.

I love the smell of thinly veiled misogyny in the afternoon...
Do you? You shouldn't. Shame on you.
And, by the way, there is no misogyny here.
Have a nice day.

I've done some minor saddle adjustments, which seems to have helped, but the E String still seems to be struggling. It has a very indistinct sound to it, to the point where it's not always clear what note is sounding out, if that makes sense.
The actual string itself does look too big for the space in the nut, so I think that too will no doubt be part of the problem.

My phone has an unusual way of spellchecking 🤣

From the perspective of someone starting out in a band context, surely none of this is controversial stuff?
Anyhow, she's a working musician, a Berklee graduate and member of staff, and now she's a bass player you've all heard of, for better or worse!
