  1. Thanks Nick, back at you! All the best. Dave
  2. Nick very kindly removed a huge double bass case from my posession, which made my wife's day! An absolute pleasure to do business with him, thoroughly decent chap. Thanks Nick, I hope the case serves you well! Cheers, Leon C
  3. Oops, yes... I stand corrected - Ray35. My bad.
  4. And you're correct, it is a ridiculous bargain!!!
  5. Hi Nick. By all means send me some measurements, and I’ll let you know if it is a fit. I got it with a 3/4 size I bought recently, but I have absolutely no use for it. Cheers, Dave B

I just bought Scott's Fender Kingman, which was every bit as pristine as he claimed. Great comms, very happy. Thanks! Leonc 2

  8. Agreed. It has a fabulously articulate sound which feels really nice under the fingers. Deffo a great amp, but I’m getting on a bit and it’s pretty weighty by today’s standards. Thanks for your comments.
  9. Back at you Allan, enjoy the bass and have a great Christmas & New Year. 👍
  10. Allan bought my Warwick Star bass. Top chap to deal with, excellent communication, instant payment. Many thanks!!
  11. Ah, apologies - I'm in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex. Cheers, David
  12. Double Bass Hard Case, styrofoam shell, with wheels. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, other than it is huge and I have no use for it, and I just want it gone! Double bass stays at home, and I use an EUB for gigs. Offers considered, but please don't ask me to ship it unless you really have to!! Cheers! P.S. It would make a lovely Christmas stocking filler for someone!!!
  13. Hi. It weighs in at 9.25 pounds on my bathroom scales.. Hope this helps!
  14. Yes, it really is a nice looking bass. Cheers!
  15. For sale - Classic Markbass HT503 500watt bass head. Very early Markbass model, old school design with plenty of grunt. No lightweight Class C nonsense here, this is proper old style with all metal casing, tube preamp section and big transformers, which means it's pretty heavy, which is why I no longer use it. It does, however, sound magnificent! Warm filter control and VLE coupled with 4 band eq. Offers or trade considered. Can post at buyers expense to UK only, cost to be ascertained.
  16. If this doesn’t sell soon I’m going to keep it! Sterling Stingray Ray35 - Never gigged, in excellent condition. Beautiful Quilt Island Burst finish, Mahogany body, roasted maple neck. Still has protective plastic film on scratchplate. With Sterling gig bag. I need to offload some basses. Can ship at cost price within UK mainland only. (Estimated cost to buyer - about £20). Model: StingRay 5 Quilt Colour: Island Burst / Roasted Maple Top: Quilted Maple Body: African Mahogany Neck: Roasted Maple Fingerboard: Roasted Maple Fingerboard Inlays: Black Dots Fingerboard Radius: 12" Nut Width: 45 mm Scale Length: 34" Frets: 22 Pickguard: Black, Multi Ply Tuners: Open Back Bridge: Heavy Duty Hardware: Chrome Pickups: SBMM Humbucker Controls: 1 x Volume, 1 x Treble, 1 x Middle, 1 x Bass No. Of Strings: 5 Case/Gigbag: Gigbag
  17. For sale, Warwick Rockbass Star Bass 4 String, cream with black go-faster stripes. 32" scale. Excellent conditon throughout. Comes with Warwick gig bag. Very slim, comfortable neck. Highly versatile tone from 2 MEC pickups. I bought this on here during the Covid crisis and I've been very pleased with it whenever I've had a chance to use it. This is a really nice bass but I now really need to thin down my collection to a few essential instruments. Local pickup preferred but can ship at buyers expense to UK only. For sale elsewhere but cheaper here. Here's some online blurb; The Warwick Star is an elegant-looking instrument with some tasteful vintage-style touches. Featuring a large semi-hollow body constructed from Laminated Maple; Star basses typically have a bright and airy tone, which is accentuated even more so by their set Maple necks. To add some essential warmth, Warwick Star basses feature Rosewood fingerboards; offering a smooth feel under the fingers. Unlike most of their counterparts in the Warwick range, Star basses have all-passive circuitry. This ensures an earthy, old-school sound that’ll sit well in any jazz or classic rock mix. Although they might look like humbuckers, these basses are actually fitted with pairs of single-coil pickups. Pumping out a lot of focused mid-range, you can easily tame the sound of these pickups via their independent volume and tone controls.

  19. Ilian bought my Mackie Thump. Very easy transaction, instant payment and good comms. Recommended! Thanks! Leon C
  20. Well apparently Gibson sometimes marked instruments as 2nds just to clear stocks by offering them to dealers slightly cheaper. There may not be a flaw of any kind!
  21. Gibson EB2d sunburst semi-hollow bass for sale. Vintage 1965 (or possibly 1967?). In generally decent condition for it's age. Neck is very good, plays really nicely and feels very comfortable. There are of course a few scuffs and scrapes and a little buckle rash, but nothing serious. It sounds exactly as you would expect - massive low end from the mudbucker, punchy and bright mini humbucker and lots of tones in between. String damper works fine. Comes in it's own fitted case. Some of the pots have been replaced sometime in the past, but the original parts are included in the sale. It is stamped with a "2" under the serial number which indicates a Gibson factory 2nd, which would signify a slight flaw in the finish. Indeed there is a slight issue with the varnish on the bass side of the headstock, but it's pretty insignificant and has zero effect on playability or sound. I have priced the bass accordingly, as these would normally go for £3 - £5k or more. Here's what I found online; "I was a Gibson dealer throughout the 70s and 80s. Here is how it worked. Mid 60s through mid 70s they used a stamped "2" under the serial number to designate a second. All it meant was something cosmetic, not structural, that did not quite meet their standard for a first-quality instrument. Color, maybe something in the grain, etc. You could not order them, but your factory rep would sometimes offer them to you. The wholesale price was 10% below normal wholesale." Reason for sale - I am a pro player of 40+ years experience and have been collecting basses throughout my career. But I am now - how can I put it - quite advanced in years, and have decided to sell off a substantial part of my collection. This is the first one to go and a feeler for the current market. I wouldn't want to ship this bass, so local collection only. Any trial welcome. I could meet up somewhere within 20 miles of Southend.
  22. Yep, it really is a bargain.... I don't need this amount of power these days, so it's way under priced but I'm looking for a quick sale.
