Enfield?

If you can be confident that they take the same current i cant see an issue
-
I also think less scripted material would be good. Maybe with something like the neck stuff from spondon could have been a conversation

I asked this question of Enfield/Sims basses but they didn’t bother to respond:
Does wrapping a wooden core in carbon have the same benefit of a full composite neck? Will it move/need a truss rod? As far as I know some carbon necks have a different material in the core.
The benefit is very similar there’s a one piece carbon fiber bass build on talk bass that I’ll hunt for in the morning.
The method for a full composite one piece carbon neck is this: Make a plug, make a mold from it, lay up 4 layers of CF in it, take it out, if using a truss make something to hold it and adhere it inside the carbon neck shell, fill the hollow neck with a poly based foam and glue a fretboard.
The only structural difference between this and what I’m doing with MDF is the core.
As MDF is a stableish material it won’t move much and due to the carbon reinforcements the truss is only needed if you want to fine tune your relief.
The full carbon neck (as long as the same amount of layers of fabric is used) is the same strength but much lighter due to the poly foam core. This also only needs a truss for fine relief adjustments.
In short, there’s not much difference apart from weight

A change of plan! As suggested by the wonderful @SpondonBassed I’m going to make the thru neck from MDF and wrap that in carbon fiber. I’m also tempted by acrylic wings.

Have you used this topic for 2 basses?
-
Definitely contact Jim fleeting. Hes a Luthier in stockport and has made an amazing 6.

http://www.stringtensionpro.com/ Take a look at this site. Looks like it may be useful.

Have you hit a snag? Perhaps we can discuss it on your build topic...
Nothing terrible, just new stuff

Is jebroad way out of their depth in composites materials?

It looks like a standard PCB mount pot, do you know it’s resistance?

If we do hats, can we make a new website with the domain, basshat.co.uk?

Did your amp hum when your IC died?
Very much so. Theres also no output
-
Could be a slightly dead IC. ive replaced the one in mine twice now, its pretty simple to do. It probably doesn't help that i would put a bass through with gain at 11
-
Ive got one of these amps too and fixed it 3 too many times. Is there any noise out of it if you plug anything in?

Nice progress, you're beating my midgets
