I have one of these, 34" scale. It's by Hutchins.. 

I think the issue for me is what appears to be a really nice bass being let down by shoddy finishing. I shall look at improving the wiring and maybe use the Glockenklang somewhere else. I have a few old basses that could use some help with worn-out pots etc.

I have a Line 6 XT Pro that does all the pre-amp stuff for me btw

Aargh! I don't need any more bass guitars but one of these just got added to my unicorn list.

I remember looking at the bass in Mike's studio and thinking it looked amazing, that may have been one of the reasons I picked up the bass myself 

The soldering is quite shoddy, maybe a better photo will show what I mean. I have already cleaned out most of the excess solder stuck to the inside of the cavity..

Thanks, it is a nice looking thing and it plays really well. However the wiring is pretty poor, I was quite disappointed when I took the cover off.

It's evil - if you play sat down the lower horn has a bit that stabs you in the leg whilst the same feature on the upper horn sticks into your sternum!

My stepdaughter reckons it looks like a chicken. 

It all started with the maker lining up the top edge of the fingerboard with the through neck timber, and from there on everything went wonky! They didn't allow for the taper as far as I can see.

I like the care that was taken to make sure the top line of the pickguard doesn't even run parallel to the strings.

It's easy to make fundamental mistakes when lining up separate elements of a guitar. Check out Dolores, my BC Rich Zombie. 

I have an Allen Eden NYC Jazz bass I am thinking of upgrading with a Glockenklang 3-band 5 knob preamp. The bass has Mings high output pickups currently fitted, does anyone know if these are suitable to use with the Glockenklang? 

I would welcome suggestions as to knob positioning, I am swaying towards this

Har I have an HA3500, sometimes the fan is the loudest thing in the room! 

I purchased a Warwick Streamer from Dave. He was an absolute gent and I would happily recommend anyone deal with him.

I purchased a couple of cases from Pinball, it was a smooth and easy transaction and I would happily deal with him again.

I have a cheap digital vernier, its ideal for measuring string gauge.

There are loads on eBay

I have sent a couple of bass guitars with Parcelforce recently and nowhere in their terms and conditions could I find any restrictions on sending them.

I am revisiting mine, maybe I just need to try harder..

I could mention a nice blonde 51 rep on Gumtree at the moment but it may be against the rules?
