Yes, we use RCF for smaller gigs and acoustic gigs. Daryl

No amp Dave just a bass and an instrument stand. I'll use a di box and a monitor. Daryl

We're about 90 minutes north of Chicago. Theres still a thriving gigging scene in Milwaukee and the surrounding counties. Daryl

I can definitely handle sit in singers, blues harp and guitar. I get the willies playing with an untested drummer. Lol Daryl

I struggle with stuff like that. I don't like it. I'm not even that big on folks sitting in. Usually it's initiated by the band leader. The rest of the band members are a lot more generous about sit ins than me. I'm a lot better with it than I use to be. It's really not a big deal. Most of the time it's local guys that are good. However, I think there are some gigs where it's not appropriate Daryl

Cool Daryl

That's cool Dave. I've seen a couple of local singers well into their 70s that are still fronting bands and singing well . Daryl

Back at The Harley Motor Bar & Restaurant this Saturday! Enjoy the *bourbon and BBQ specials and we’ll provide the tunes! 5:30-8:30pm Daryl *Seriously, who drinks bourbon in Wisconsin? That's a down south thing.

It was a good gig. We played an hour slot, 3:45- 4:45. The sound on stage was fantastic. Blue

It was a good gig. And the organisers stayed true to their word. Food & beverage was provided. Lol Daryl

Just a super work horse bass. Mine is a 2000 MIJ 1951 reissue. I love that custom pick guard on your's. Daryl

My favorite Spinal Tap scene is when they opened for a puppet show playing " free form" jazz. Lol Daryl

Dave, I can't count the number of times I've read a post from a fellow bass chatter and said, "I thought that was just me" Daryl

Fantastic Fender P. Daryl

I like this topic. And what I like about bass chat. While our bands are all different we still deal with a lot the same issues. Comments? Daryl https://www.facebook.com/share/6sEwgPb8kbRQfoX3/?mibextid=D5vuiz

That would be a blast Stub. 👍 Daryl

Wow! That was a close one. I thought you said Jeffrey Dahmer aka the Milwaukee Cannible. Daryl

Dave, It's always a tough call for us. It's hard for us to turn down private parties because over here they pay so well. Daryl

I wish I was 64. If I was 64 I'd be doing cart wheels outside. Lol Daryl

My band Maple Road Blues Band is not really a traditional blues band. We have a mix of originals and covers we open up and jam out on. Jolene, Ohio, Knocking On Heavens Door, Angel From .Montgomery, Them Changes to name a few. But we are certainly not a wedding band. You never know how it will turn out. Give us a report. Daryl

I get the reference. I've been following bands, trends and genres in England since 1963, not 64, 1963. Daryl
-
Dave, We'll use an agent once in a blue moon. We really can't afford an agent. If we were consistently booking $2,000.00 gigs there'd be some "wiggle room" even after commissions were paid. Daryl

It also helps if your playing with musicians with above average intelligence. I've seen the bad side of that scenario. Lol Daryl
