We played The Ziegler Winery yesterday 7/13/24, 3-6. Finally a good gig. We were tight and hitting on all 8 cylinders. The sound on stage was beautiful. The crowd got us . Tips were lucrative an extra $50.00 for everyone. Daryl

Agreed Dave, Depends on the gig but I finally figured out the audience are not musicians. All they really want is beat they can dance to. It was pretty cool I thought. A decent amount of alcohol induced dancing. It was far from perfect but we had a few good moments. Daryl

In the States if you get a teaching degree you can make a very good living . You can retire with a nice pension and health insurance and then embark on a music career. Daryl

I say it's true. I know several people that wanted to make living on live performance. Most had to pivot by age 30. Daryl

I like this guy. Do you agree or disagree? This could be a good discussion. Daryl https://www.facebook.com/share/p/ugcYDJYH1YiqNGMx/?mibextid=xfxF2i

The Bastille Days gig was ok. Load in and parking was a nightmare. Downtown Milwaukee was packed. The Republicans convention started tonight. It's being held here in Milwaukee. We were too loud for my taste. Decent crowd and decent pay, $1,500.00 for two and a half hours. The lighting was right up in our eyes,we couldn't see the crowd. Here are a few pics I took. Daryl

Was it Spin off from Happy Days or Lavern& Shirley? Daryl

Sounds good. I'm going to make some very soon. Daryl

I think Suzie Quatro had a reoccurring role on Happy Days. Daryl

I thought porridge was fictional. I remember reading about it as a kid. I think it was referenced in The Three Little Bears.lol Daryl

I hope so Dave. We have The Ziegler Winery the next day. I'll probably get home from Bastille Days gig at 1:00am and get to sleep at 4:00. I'll be operating on very little sleep. Daryl https://www.facebook.com/share/v/ebxAbmRdN6ZBJUYg/?mibextid=qi2Omg

Yes , but actually it's the City of West Bend WI. Washington County 20 minutes north of Milwaukee. Also home of Happy Days and The Fonz. Daryl

Dave, We have that 9:15 star billing for Bastille Days Friday night. We have an afternoon gig at The Ziegler Winery on Saturday. It's a 2 hour drive one way. Daryl
-
Thanks Dave, Everything looks good . Who knows what surprises we might be in for. Daryl

Bastile Days this Friday night. Bastile Days is one of Milwaukee's largest 3 day multi stage festivals. It's the first time we've played to a large night time crowd on the east side of Milwaukee. We have to be good. Here's the line up. I don't know how we got headliner status. Bastile Days Milwaukee 7/12 Beaux Art Stage 11:45am Tribal Belly Dance 1:15 Chris Pipkins 2:45 The Incorruptibles 6:00 Rebecca & The Grey Notes 9:15 Maple Road Daryl

Cool, my zip code is 53095. I'm not sure what that brings up on Google. Daryl

I'm going to impress my band mates with that Bastille history. Thanks Daryl

CV22, What da? Lol Daryl

Sounds like the gig we did in Baraboo. Pitched to us as an upscale tent blues festival. Sound and lights provided ( sort of). OMG, we get there and we were directed to this small raggedy tent with the roof leaking from the rain. I think the stage was made from a series of stacked plastic milk crates. The sound was from 1972. Two old guys sitting in front of an ancient 12 channel Beringer board. I asked one of them about an XLR out. He pointed to a spare XLR cord on the grass. Can you believe he actually expected me to physically connect the XLR. LOL The whole thing was strictly "po dunk". Daryl

We played an hour busking gig at Summerfest today. Dep percussion. I'd give us a 5 on 1-10. Bastile Days coming this Friday night. Daryl

It can be a tough business. For example, the attached pic is pretty cool. You can't tell we're playing to 10 people in a huge room. Lol Daryl
