  1. That makes sense but so far from my world. Blue
  2. I almost thought this ad might be a joke. Maybe not, I'm not sure there would be many guys looking for 5-6 gigs, even if it's just for fun. What are your thoughts on the ad and the opportunity. Let's Talk About It Blue "Bass Player needed for cover band that plays about 5-6 shows per year. Wetake playing well seriously all while having fun. This is a hobby for the members of the band which is why we only play about 5-6 (sometimes more)shows a year. All of us have families and full time jobs outside of this band. We cover classic rock, country, and some of today's music. Basically, festival type stuff. All the guys are super easy going, serious about playing well and professional, and just plain fun to be around. Would appreciate a picture and video of your playing, would save us all lots of time. I hate to post the below caveats but the only reason I do is because we've had these problems before... If you are in multiple bands and trying to schedule a practice with you is an ordeal, probably not the project for you. Communication is key, if it takes you 3 days to answer an email or text, probably not the project for you. (don't worry, we are not chronic texters or emailers) Do your homework before practice. (obvious but I had to say it) "
  3. We all probably know that there are some people that turn completely crazy when they drink. Blue
  4. Sounds nice, We play a club that's very similar. Green Room,Pro Stage Manager and Sound Crew that know what they're doing. Very few clubs like this in my area. They're booked all the through 2018. Blue
  5. Yeah, Seemed like he was saying, " I'm racist but just a little racist, not a alot. So I'm cool. Blue
  6. No gigs until February. Depressing, however I'm not going to blame anyone or point fingers. There's not as many places to play around here anymore. And we dropped a few places that were not much fun to play anymore. It would be nice to get some higher profile gigs. Hopefully the Summer fest & fair season will bring some cooler gigs.:( Blue
  7. Someone recently said; "I'm the least racist person you'll ever know" What does that mean.? Blue
  8. I'd vlove this opportunity. I don't drink alcohol. Blue
  9. I'd love this type of opportunity. I could care less about alcohol. Blue
  10. Is there any issues or problem cwith the way I'm doing it? Blue
  11. Now I'm confused. I use a 750 watt zgK head 1 speakon to a 2 x 10 GK RBX cab and the other speakon to a 1x15 RBX cab? Blue
  12. Pete, when I say musicians wouldn't get it, the reason is a lot of guys are not ' feel" musicians. For example if I was playing with the guys I got my skills with back in the 60s and I laid down a bass groove in E, they would all come in with their own grooves complimenting mine. If your a groove/feel player, you know that doesn't happen with everyone you play with. BTW, across the whole spectrum of playing there's a lot more I don't get than I get. Blue
  13. Agreed, and understand, it a groove not a song. Blue
  14. Very nice, hard to find guys that have this kind of understanding and ability. If I showed this clip to my band members they wouldn't get it. Blue
  15. Not to me, I only use flatwounds on my Hofner Club Bass. Blue
  16. Did I miss something here? What does a Pro level ELO tribute band have to do with the context of this discussion on Private Events. Blue
  17. You have to meet the right people and you have to be the right person. A lot of great singer/ song writers don't have the personality or charisma to make it. Even at the local bar level I don't have the rigjt charisma or personality. A while Back I started to realize that punters gravitate toward all of the other members of my band, but not me. Blue
  18. I'd have to disagree. There are unique and supremely talented artists out there right now that we will never hear or see. Unless you have all those rules in place it's impossible to make it. Blue
  19. The age issue is interesting. Overall chances of *making it" happen for most when they're in their 20s or younger. However once you've made it fans will not hold age against you once your brand is solid. Paul McCartney and The Stone are on that very short list of artists that can still sell 40,000 seat packages. Blue
  20. And he didn't really look like a rock or Pop star. Blue
  21. Mark is an exception I'm sure Mark is not the only one. Blue
  22. For me , at 64 making it means keeping a 3 gig per week schedule. Blue
