  1. I've built 2 easy builds, a mk2 basschat cab and am now finishing a mk3 - they're great designs (stevie and phil are great contributors to this forum and very helpful) I'm going "solo" on this one. I have the speaker and i'm going to see what I can get from it. πŸ˜„ Speaker cabinet building seems to be my "catnip".... i'm addicted!
  2. I recently bought a BAM200 for rehearsals with a tiny 1x10 basslite loaded cab i'm currently building My other reason for purchase is to stash it in my gig bag to get me over the line if my main amp (TC BH800) bites the dust Its silly tiny. Its loud for it's size and spec - I wouldn't consider using it to gig with on a regular basis Not sure of output @ 8 ohms, but I would imagine 150-160 watts maybe????? It's no frills (power switch, mains in, speaker out 1/4, input, headphones, gain, low, mid, high, volume, DI, ground/lift) Its nicely put together The fan is pretty quiet The eq is very tweakable My ears hear a fair bit of signal compression as the gain is wound round For the cost (£117.50 when ordered) I thought it'd be a get out of jail card for future gigs If you're normally a speakon/speakon lead user, you'll need a jack/speakon lead. Easily stashed, easy to use, cheap enough to lay dormant without feeling bad about not using it all the while Looks crazy sat on top of any "normal" gigging type cab.... Like somebody's left a packet of smokes behind 😁 Cute little beasty
  3. that's brilliant thank you so much for taking the time to help me out i'd got a bit peeved about the bass after buying it, but with your diagram I can double check it all if i ever meet you, I owe you a pint or three ☺️
  4. You sir, are a gent. Thank you for doing/checking that. The original seems to show red jumper wires. Would you agree?
  5. Yeah, but the switch area is grainy and vague. I've tried zooming it
  6. I know chances are slim, but does anyone have a modern player jazz that they'd be prepared to take a picture of for me? I need the 4 position swich so I can see the wires clearly The jpg that fender uk sent me is a bit grainy when I zoom into it. I'd be v appreciative
  7. Right! ICEpower200ASC ordered from Profusion here in the UK www.profusionplc.com Remove all wiring connectors from the knackered, smelly board and note where they came from - took pics just in case Undo 5 nuts and remove along with spring washers CAREFULLY remove board with a bit of wiggling and patience Fit new board in the big, empty gap. Power cables may need a little shifting to get it in Breathe a sigh of relief when all the holes line up Refit washers and nuts and nip down. I dabbed a bit of my favourite nail varnish on the threads to act as a virtual thread locker Refit connectors Refit lid Connect up.... a quick pray and BINGO - we're all groovy So... not cheap, but not difficult The Shuttle 3.0 lives again Thanks to everyone for their input
  8. Thank you. I'd found that post, but for some reason the image wasn't showing Are the red marks on the positional switch jumper wires? I've soldered the wires back on and get no hum in positions 1+4 but a bit on 2+3 Am I to assume this is "normal" jazz behaviour? 😊
  9. Hi. I bought a 5 string modern player bass recently. It has a 4 position switch to give you pickup combinations. The pot was loose on the plate and has been spinning round... There is a black and white wire dangling near the switch connections. Does anybody have a wiring diagram of this model of bass please? Thanks. Jon.
  10. I contacted profusion here in the UK Wih VAT and carriage i'm looking at £144.13 (or a TC BAM200 new with VAT and postage for £117.50.....) I was always under the impression that these were 300W @ 4 ohm amps?????? Not 200w as per the "blurb" Hmmmmm...... what to do. Not sure I love it that much 😁
  11. thank you everybody for your suggestions I'm pretty sure it'll cost more than its worth to bring it back to life, but it definitely has sentimental value. I'll shove it in a cupboard for a few months whilst i mourn my loss
  12. must stop looking at this..... 😁 I'm only down the road in Wymondham too Aaaaaaaaah!
  13. it might be fun to bring it to a bass bash and see if we can blow it up. I like your style..... 😁
  14. Hi All I made a boo boo with my lovely little Genz Shuttle 3.0 I was mildly drunk and testing a speaker using leads with spade connectors on the ends and one fell off and earthed on the front of the amp It went quiet and then the standby light went red for a while and then back to blue Phew!..... I thought I turned it on later that evening and with the mute switch engaged or any 3 of the tone shaping buttons I get a hum through my cab It also spikes when turning on EQ works and there's plenty of volume on tap - its just the spike on startup and the hum when muted/tone shaped I'm pretty certain the answer will be "fecked mate", but ...... Is there anywhere in the UK that could repair it? I guess it all comes down to the cost. I didn't pay much for it, but it was my first "proper" amp and i'm rather attached to it I've had a look inside, but there's nothing obvious - it did have "that smell" though I'd appreciate any advice Cheers Jon
  15. Hi I like the look of grille cloth on bass cabs I bought some from E Bay, but it was a swine to get it taught over the frame. It wasn't tough enough to protect the driver within a gigging cabinet Does anybody know of a source/technique for achieving a sturdy cloth grille, or even a cloth that shrinks when heat is applied to it? (I've read about this online) Appreciate any advice
  16. Hi I just got ahead of myself really and should've fitted this just before I fitted the top panel 😊
  17. Me again Bit more done Cut the pipe with my band saw. Lifted the blade guide up as high as it would go and then gently rolled the tube round making sure I was hitting my 150mm markings Came out a treat. Roughed the plastic surface up with sandpaper and then used a cheap n nasty spray in very fine coats. Came out fine. Stapled wadding in place Have also fitted base, but no picture. Next up is some routing of the edges Crossover headache is looming. I'll crack it, but its my least fave part So far so good One point to make. The top panel brace has a notch out of it as per the plans. I glued this to the top panel before i'd built the cab up The brace that goes inside the notch is not on the centre line of the baffle. So, my notch was not quite in the right place I enlarged the notch so its fine now, but it might be worth leaving the brace off until you can see where it needs to be hope that makes some kind of sense This post was brought to you in association with Varta Batteries.....
  18. Clamps! Batteries! Mess! PROGRESS! 😁 Omni 15 tallboy wood collected today. I think I have an addiction
  19. I'm sure you're sick of my photos... But. Clamp porn! The battery came in handy πŸ˜‚
  20. Side went on last night Its taking shape now! Yep - bench still an eyesore 😁
