This is so true. My fave P weighs in at 6.8 lbs plays & sounds Fab, so I thought I would obtain a back up ‘just in case’ - Exactly the same model, same year, loom, pickups, strings - even the colour & yep you’ve guessed correctly - It was a lot heavier + played & sounded nothing like the other one🙈🙈!!

A wonderfully lightweight Precision Bass with a straight neck, fully functioning Truss Rod, uprated Seymour ‘Duncan Designed’ Pick ups, professional KiOgen solderless Loom with Bourns Pots, Switchcraft input Jack, Fender Spaghetti Logo and comes complete with an as new (apart from a small scuff to the piping on one corner, please see pics) Ordo lightweight softshell rigid foam case. In excellent condition with a 50’s style vintage two tone tobacco sunburst. Ti Flats fitted since original pics were taken. This is one of the very few sub 8lbs P basses I’ve encountered during the past half Century, weighing in at a mere 3.4kg - or 7.5lbs in ‘old money’ It has had a really nice set up - level frets etc. & plays really well with a low action and sounds like a good P Bass should, with more growl than a very growly thing from the Planet Growl partly thanks to the Maple fingerboard, but I suspect mainly due to our own John’s (Kiogen) recommended capacitor on this fabulous Loom. The headstock has had a refin & a spaghetti Fender logo applied to the headstock by a previous owner to a very high standard. What Fender say……. A really nice example finished in the beautiful Fender Dakota Red. It has had a really nice set up - level frets, low playing action & is in excellent condition. It feels about the same size as a Strat to me and weighs in at 2.8Kg, or a tad over 6lbs in ‘old money’ The back of the neck has a lovely flame to the Maple. Other upgrades include a KiOgen wireless loom, Bourns potentiometers, Switchcraft output Jack socket, uprated pickups and a spiffing Celluloid top layer faux Tortoiseshell pickguard. This Bass would be ideal as a travelling instrument, for a beginner, or anyone with smaller hands. Because it is so small - about the same size as a Fender Stratocaster, it is ideal as a studio Bass or just for ‘noodling’ - Guitarists love these as they feel familiar in their hands. Included in the sale is a Gibson heavily padded Levy’s Gig Bag which although is a tad threadbare in places, still provides excellent protection. Thank you, very much appreciated. I can only think that the neck / headstock has been re finished as apart from the font being iffy, whoever did the refin has made it look like it’s been there from when the neck was made.

It ‘should’ be from a Squier Sonic P Bass. No other markings apart from a spaghetti logo which has to have been done be a Luthier - it’s as good as any I’ve seen including USA Fender - which it obviously is not, but it’s an incredible neck.

Hi Guys, Anyone recognise these neck & pocket markings please?

Eden WTX 264 Bass Amp. **ON HOLD** - *SOLD*

Great little amp with a very varied tone pallet, not a great deal of ‘umph’ - but the Bass boost its really good, enabling a full warm sound at low volume & still loud enough for small Gigs or rehearsals etc. In excellent condition & works really well apart from a slight issue with the mid knob which tends to stick around the two o’clock point, but if it’s pulled out to the second position - it can be turned fully.

Small, articulate Bass Cab in excellent condition complete with a Roqsolid cover which is also in excellent condition and cost over £90 alone. Dual Speakon / 1/4” Jack input & link. This is a really well made small cab that in my humble opinion punches well above it’s size & would be ideal for small Gigs, rehearsals, studios or add a second cab for larger clubs or pubs.

Only used for five minutes. Thought I ‘d try these on my Mini P Bass, they sound really good - but I prefer the feel of my nylon coated jobbies under my old fingers. These are apparently specifically made by La Bella to fit the Fender Squier Mini P Bass & are 31 inches from the ball end to where the silks start, so should also fit other short scale Basses with the same dimensional requirements. £25 including postage to the U.K. Mainland. Since the 50s and 60s, La Bella’s DEEP TALKIN’ BASS Stainless Steel Flat Wounds have been the choice of professional bass players and continue to be the standard for the best sounding Flat Wounds on the market. Stainless Steel Flat Wound; hand-polished for incredibly smooth finish 31″ Wound Length (distance from the ball-end to where the silk begins is 31″; the silk must start after the nut and only the silk can wrap around the tuner) Medium Tension String Gauges: .049, .069, .089, .109 Top Load Only (do not string through the body of the bass or they will break) Made in the USA with American Wire Packaged using MAP Technology (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) to prevent tarnishing and ensure freshness This particular set is NOT suitable for basses with bridges that require strings to pass through the body of the instrument. Hopefully, here’s a link to a Chap demonstrating them. https://youtu.be/Da54YGS7ygQ
