I bought the Fender Precision from John and all I can say is that the bass is amazing. On his post, he said the condition was 9.5 out of 10 and it's completely true, exactly as described...the bass is virtually brand new!

If any of you guys is thinking of dealing with him, I wouldn't hesitate, he's a top guy, very friendly and honest... It's been an abolutely pleasure to meet him.

Thanks John, I'm extremly happy with the bass: looks awesome, plays beautifully and the sound is awesomeeeeee!!!

It's been a pleasure to meet you... Hope to see you around again.

  2. My advice is not to limit just to the one pickup, have a look and try, if you can, the double pickup models. HS or HH configuration.

I've got a Stingray 4 HS and it's a beast! The extra pickup, together with the 5 position pickup selector and the 3 band EQ, really opens up the tonal possibilities of these basses. Very versatile instrument, you won't be dissapointed.

After much thinking I have decided to sell this pedal. It's the Talkbass Special Edition, exactly the number 9 out of the 10 that were made.
It's in mint condition, no marks or scratches, and works perfectly.

It's a great low gain OD/ Dirty Boost pedal, ideal to add some grit or boost your sound.

    Here it is:

    Price? £85 plus postage.

No, it didn't... I bought this bass and receive it last week but after inspecting it properly turn out not to be an all original '77 Jazz bass. A few bits had been replaced, and a few other things didn't work properly.
I was buying this bass planning to keep it and get rid of my all original '78. As it was suposed to be all original, had been owned by Noel Redding and I liked it better than mine I tought it was a good investment but, because of the price and not being all original, I decided not to buy it..
I spoke to the seller about it and he said he didn't know about the parts having been replaced and the other bits not working properly, he was kind enough and understood the situation.

I have to say that Chris was a top bloke to deal with, he sent me the bass with no payment upfront and the communication has been really good he even offered me a refund for the shipping I paid.

I'm surprise to see it on Ebay, the bass is still sitting in my bedroom he hasn't arrange collection yet.

I could be able to act as a mediator/escrow as I'm the Goods Inwards guy at work and thus would be able to recieve and send packages easily (unless it arrived at the weekend!)

hit me up if you want any help with it!

If I may say so, its understandable and wise to be just a bit wary in a situation like this.

I'm based up near Newcastle if the noobie is from my neck of the woods I've no objection to giving you a hand at sorting this out.
Thanks a lot for your help guys, you are very kind.

Seller is based in Glasgow and I'm down in Brighton & Hove.

  6.
Is there any chance you could both send the money/bass to a respected member and pay a bit extra for him/her to send it on once both are recieved? If you can find someone willing im sure that would work!

Have you spoken to this guy on the phone? If im nervous about a deal i find thats the way forward.
Thanks for the idea!

Yes, talking on the phone always helps but we are talking about humdreds of £'s... and need some advice here.

  7. Not sure this is the right section for this post but here is what I'm talking about:

I'm thinking of buying from someone new to the forum, joined the community just a few days ago and, obviously, with no feedback.

Collection and payment in person is not possible at all and, since we are talking big money here, I'm not sure about sending the money just like that.
It's not about not trusting or doubting the other party at all, is more like I've always dealt with regular forum members and usually with really good feedback so that is a kind of guarantee you've got but never dealt with unknown people.

    Hope my explanation makes sense.

What do you guys think is the best way to get around this situation?

    :)

  8.
I found that the Sadowsky outboard preamp/di pedal is an excellent solution for more than one passive bass. No need to do any wiring, just plug the bass you're using at the time in & Bob's your Auntie!

I'm actually using it with my Marcus Miller Jazz as the Sadowsky sounds fuller and richer than the onboard Fender pre.
+1 for the Sadowsky outboard. I'm using it with my Jazz bass and it's great, amazing full and rich sound. No need to do any wiring and you've got a DI box too
