1.
... Recorded today with my Jazz Bass (w/ 84s) through a 4x10 cab and it was very middley, almost brittle sounding when played with a plectrum. Not quite sure I'd have a use for anything darker than that, but I'd be interested in hearing them anyway...
Is there any chance you can post any recording of those pickups, the 84's, please? I'd love to hear how they sound...I'm about to replace the ones on my bass and Wizards were an option.

    Thanks!

I did't know they were selling Sadowskys too now, I'm sure it hasn't been that long.
    A few of them here:

  4.
thinking about making a move to five.anyone recommend a good quality sensibly priced bass.second hand is ideal.values up to maybe 300 quid????
For that price I'd go with an Ibanez ATK 305...very, very good bass for the money, well built and good tone, similar to a Stingray with and also to a P bass on steroids depending on the pickup selector position.

  5. :)

If you like the Sansamp tone, get the ParaDriver, you won't be dissapointed.
I was in a similar situation a while ago: I liked the tone of my Bass Driver but hated the midscoop so I sold it and got the Paradriver...happiest man in town since then

If you are interested I'm about to sell mine, with my SVT I don't really need it now.
  6.
I would say, pretty much without hesitation, that any BadAss bridge would fit any Fender Jazz or Precision, so long as it has a standard five hole fixing. Which is pretty much every Jazz and Precision.
    P
I'm asking because the bridge on the new Fenders has only three holes and I'm not sure it will fit.

  7. I'm selling my Ampeg SVT-610 cabinet.
It's in perfect working order and excellent condition, a few minor scratches here and there but nothing really important...A great sounding cab, very powerful and very easy to move around.

    Pics here:

    Price? £425

    :)
The cheaper of the 2 zoom's is good, my drummer and housemate has one, he has recorded us at practice a few times and I am always impressed with the recording, it picks up bass well, which I think is often lacking on these kind of things.

Yes, the H2 it's great, good quality recordings and very, very easy to use.
I use it to record the band when we work on new songs and the result is very good.

    +1

  9. :)

Not sure if it's gonna help or confuse you even more but here you have a pickup comparison thread from Talkbass:

    http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91384

I'm about to replace the pickups on my Geddy Lee and I was also thinking Dimarzio Model J but I really don't like the look of the adjustable pole pieces.
I've just checked their website and they seem to have change that option, the adjustable poles I mean, and now they look as any other jazz pickup, is that for real or just they've got the wrong picture?

I have a Dunlop DC Brick on my board and it did the job really well.

  13.
its a piece of protective plastic that sadowsky put on to stop buckle rash

    (edit due to spelling)
So that's what it is  ...Thanks Chris.

  14.
Can anyone tell me if the only place to get the Sadowsky preamp/DI pedal is direct from Sadowsky or is there a company in the UK that imports them?
The Gallery sell them, drop them a line and check if they've got it in stock:
