What a stunning bass. Do you know why the back-plate serial number, and the written number inside the electronics cavity are very slightly different?
-
An alternative would be to keep the lot and put a valve preamp on the front. I use a Noble with with my d800+ and muck about with the Voicing setting. Top rig by the way!

A great bass! How much does it weigh?

In the cold weather I am discovering that one of our cats likes sitting on top of my amp (particularly when it's on). I suspect your MM makes for a toasty Cat backside!

Is the cat included?

It makes me think how much stupid money I paid for a Custom Shop version, which looks pretty much the same bass. GLWTS this is s bargain!

Last night's set up at our Cuban Gig at the Polish Centre in Hammersmith. This has to be one of the best set up Jazz Venues in West London. And the Polish know how to Salsa til late into the night!
Plugged my Noble DI direct into the House PA and into the house amp plus monitors. My head was about 18 inches from the Timbale player's ride cymbal

Bubinga, when you have been contributing the fantastic ideas and input you have for so long to this site, we should contribute something to you right now, even if it's just creative thought and positive ideas. Stick with it....we will be with you all the way

This site reassures me that there is a positive in 'modern media'....it is a proper community. If you fancy learning lefty bass I'll loan you one of mine. You can look like a right handed Mono Neon

Well spotted. We are all SAHB fans and the name comes from a track on their album Tomorrow Belongs to Me.
We played with Hugh McKenna on Keys for about 20 years. He very sadly passed away just before lockdown. He was a natural keys player, couldn't read notation, but taught our children to play mean boogy woogy piano, and was a gentle and gifted soul. I miss playing with him.

That'll be one Mr Edwards.
In one....I think he was playing the first Alembic I had ever seen when I saw Judie Tzuke at college. Better than that headless wonder he has just flogged!

Prizes for guessing who is the bass player in the background...

Have we had Dado yet? We must have done

I used to have an AH350, which is probably the loudest and most robust amp I have ever owned. Your amp must make a heck of a noise.....

Very interesting venue. A retired school teacher converted the living room in his Victorian era home into a music venue. Lots of Victorian furniture and Persian rugs. There's a nice bar. However, no liquor license, people bring their own booze. Very well attended.
Personally I wasn’t feeling my playing. Something was off. The sound provided was questionable. It was a 7-10 gig with a 15 minute commute. Pay wasn't that great, our band leader gave me $110.00.

Can I ask what the speaker looking thing behind the guitarist;'s right leg is?

Wal MkII Fretless 5 string, 1986, Pete "the fish" Stevens, excellent condition, OHSC

The description written by Pete exactly matches the bass, so it most likely is W2727. That might make it a couple of days older
It is a beautiful bass, deserving of a good home. GLWTS.
