Bought a Classic Vibe Precision from Steve.
Seamless transaction and excellent comms with super quick delivery. Pleasure doing business, Steve and thank you.

Can't help with the value but I used 2 of those before I went Boogie. Really good amps and very clean sounding. Frighteningly loud.

when I came here and wanted to find info on Japanese basses I noticed you always chipped in.
from a distance you have helped loads. Especially regarding changing the electronics.
I would certainly hope so. I have changed pickups generally. Changes to pots (to CTS and cloth wiring) have been more affectation than necessity, really.
The build quality has always seemed to be excellent in every example I've seen.

I have had one with a tort plate that red before.
I'm a dyed in the wool Fender Japan Precision fanboi. Never known a bad one and bought every one without trying it.

Is this still available, by any chance?

Could you slide a couple of old socks over the arms?
Be careful though. I did that and fell over as I tried to walk away. 🙂

I have one and love it. Two basses are very snug in it.
The accessory pouch is about lunch box size.

There's also Greco. They are similar.

Exceptional service froim John. I am restoring an inherited 1965 Jazz bass and asked for a loom with CTS pots. John supplied the loom, with split shaft CTS pots. I dropped him a line to upbraid myself for not asking if the pots would be split or solid shaft (I had assumed!!). He immediately offered to replace it upon recipt of the original loom.
As ever customer service is what happens when things don't work out, for whatever reason. John was an absolute gent. No surprise there!
Also ordered a Precision loom for an ongoing project. Top quality and prevents me from harming myself, and others, with a soldering iron.

Four of my basses have names. My '66 is just called #1 because it's been my main bass for almost 40 years now. The '72 is called The Wreck, because it does look to be in a bit of a state. The two SVLs are Hannah and Emily. That's because they indicate which daughter inherits which when I snuff it. Their names are engraved on the neckplates.

Welcome. There's nothing wrong with being short, and scales are important to practice.

Have a look at some Keane stuff. Bend And Break is a brilliant song.

Sad news indeed. Possibly the man I have envied more than any other.

Now you mention it @rumblefish had a similar issue which turned out to be a pre-amp valve.
The valve needed to be of a certain spec. Do you recall Rob?

Reading this is similar to watching someone trying to unravel a twisted cable. You want to jump in and try doing it yourself!
Bound to be something ridiculously simple in the end.

I have been passed to a UK artist relations lady at John Henry. I'll make contact and try and find out the latest.

Blimey, that's weird.
I sold an M-Pulse 600 that made a lot of noise despite being fine when sold. As in your case, to a very decent BCer.
It turned out a replaced input jack solved the problem.
Very odd that the same problem manifests itself in both amps.
Paging @agedhorse for his thoughts. Hopefully it's something straightforward.

I'll happily relieve you of that.
PM'd.

No. No. No and thrice no. What is wrong with you people?
Every time I see that lovely Squier mocha CV bass I want to scream. 🙂

I always wanted to form a punk band in which everyone dressed as a classical musician and sat with a music stand in front of them.

I bought my first amp when it was Telecomms, and in a tiny shop in Stamshaw (possibly the least salubrious part of Portsmouth).
Classic Vibe 60's Precision neck - and then some - *SOLD*

What do you do when you've had lemons palmed off on you? You make lemonade for someone.
I was after a Precision body and was sold the body in the picture. It transpired that the neck pocket was shorter than a standard pocket. The attitude of the seller was basically 'get lost' and the (gratefully received) efforts of the admins was also rebuffed. I had thought I'd go down the Small Claims route, but that's a faff. Just because I bought it from someone who was hooky (wink) needn't be all bad. Here's the lowdown (wink).
After the above, I have decided to take a different approach. I bought a Squier Classic Vibe 60's and have kept only the body for my project. This sale is for the body I was sold, which has a good bridge on it, and the entire rest of the Classic 60s bass, including the hardware, pickup etc. Plus, it comes in a very nice Warwick gig bag. Strings are also included.
What's the catch, you ask? As stated, the neck pocket is shorter than standard. This means that the holes in the neck don't line up with those in the body. For someone not afraid of a couple of minutes of drilling, you get a nice bass (I reckon the body's alder but can't swear to it). The scale length is correct, so no problem there. Do be mindful that you will need to do the drilling, just to underline the point. There are 14 screws on the scratchplate so you will to do some fettling if you want to use the tort plate. The body is relic'd, as you see. Not the greatest work but there you go.
Happy to post. I have a box and it'll be in it's gig bag and well padded. Delivery is likely to be about 25 quid.
Hopefully a nice end (for someone, if not me). The price is to recover the cost of the body and is cheaper than some other Classic Vibe necks you could buy, on their own. Available to everyone, with one exception.
