Yes, I emailed Rotosound to suggest maybe they should also have them available in a lighter gauge than 100-40, they responded and politely said it wasn't something they were considering doing, shame as they do have a nice unique tone to them but they are just too stiff.

Hi I have recently brought an Ibanez AGB200 Ibanez AGB200 and is a lovely bass but I cannot find a hardcase for it. I have emailed Gear4music and Andertons and they have said that the specific Ibanez case is not available to the UK and they do not know which other cases will fit. Hoping someone here can advise on a hardcase that will fit, as this bass will be loaded into a van for gigs it has to be a hardcase Thank you in advance for any suggestions/help with this

Hi all, I am a complete noob to iem (I know nothing at all about them) I currently use ear plugs when I play gigs, are there any iem's that will do the job of enabling me to hear myself but also protect my hearing? Or am I better off just sticking with ear plugs and eq'ing in some extra mids to enable me to hear myself better? Thank you

Ok so I tried it, fortunately my chorus pedal is a cheapy so I was able to try it out with minimal cost involved. I like it, stacked 2 pedals, similar sound to one on its own but a more intense effect.

I am tempted by the Artcore AGB200, there's a lot to like, SG body shape, binding, short scale, the only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger is that I am not after a thumpy tone so I suspect I would need to use quite a lot of EQ to get my current mid heavy tone but for £500ish I am still really tempted.

Does anyone have experience with this pedal? My band has a couple of songs where the bass goes really high up the neck, I have a bass with 24 frets but I would rather just take one bass to rehearsals and gigs, how is the octave up function on this and is it good enough that I could use it to go up an octave on a bass solo? Hi I am interested in these strings, am after something low tension, I know these are supposed to be lower tension than average but how much lower? For example would a 100-40 nickel set of these be similar tension to your average 95-40 set of nickel rounds?(average being something like Daddario XL or Fender Nickel) thank you

Thanks for the replies, I ended up going with a cheapie option for now, the Hofner shorty, is actually pretty good for the money, setup is good, action is low, sounds surprisingly full considering the placement of the pickup. I may get something higher end in time but this is good for now

Playing a lot more New order bass lines recently and my band will be adding Monaco What do you want from me to our set list and I am finding I am running out of frets, does anyone make a 24 fret short scale with 19mm spacing? I have seen a Stagg bass that fits the bill but Stagg basses are a bit of gamble quality wise. I am tempted to get one of the short scale Ibanez 5 string basses and string it E to C but I fear I may not gel with a 5 string Thanks

Yes, either that or Fender being misleading about "Fender spec" setup, I played a Squier once (I know it's not a Fender but made by Fender so as good as) that had the most horrific fret buzz. I only discovered it when I lowered the action from what must have been a 5mm action, someone had blatantly raised the action to hide the fret buzz.

I only used Elites once and they literally went dead overnight, I was 15 at the time so wasn't playing gigs and was tbh a bit lazy with practicing so between the time they were fitted and when they went dead they had all of 20 mins play on them, how they went dead overnight is a mystery but it's the only set of strings that has done that (I killed a set of Rotosounds in 1 gig once but tbh the venue was so hot I don't think any set of strings would have survived)

+1 unless you are gigging and touring for a living and therefore spending most of your waking hours playing then you will make mistakes at a gig. We all have moments where our mind just goes blank and we can't remember what the next note is or where our mind wanders and we play a bum note or two.

Obvious but boosted mids are a game changer, I run mine pretty much maxed.

Ok answered my own question, looked into a bit more and I will need more than 650 joules protection, we live and we learn.

I ordered this online and received it today, it's Belkin brand and I found it says on the box that it is for medium sized appliances, not sure what constitutes medium sized appliances? will be used for a large-ish combo amp and some smaller items (power supply for pedals, possibly a smallish guitar amp) Has anyone used this particular surge protected extension lead? Will this be up to the job? Thanks
