2. Hi, I am having a custom headless neck built in the states? I have decided on a Curly Maple Neck Back, After sending all my requirements i now have a choice of fingerboard! Gaboon Ebony or Pau ferro? I would be greatfull for any advise on which would be a better option? I play various styles but like a spot of slap bass! Forgot to mention, The fret inlays will look like the Alembic oval style. It will also have a 6 x Variable coloured LED system installed. Many Thanks Justin. I have added a few pics of the body?

7. Sorry lads, Just bought it!!! I will now sell my combo? Thanks Justin.
8. Hi i am selling my Laney combo having bought a larger rig. I thought i would give it a go on here before placing it on Ebay. Combo is spot on, and includes its original Manual and power lead. This combo also kick's back to a monitor position. I have only ever used the Active Jack socket, The Passive one is a little temprimental as it is never used and may need a little clean? Amp Summary, The R3 is loaded with a robust 15 custom-voiced celestion driver and switchable HF horn. With either combo or stack configurations this unit has the quality to provide a serious backline to serious players. It carries a twin dual parametric mid system for modern tonal flexibilty. Model = R3 Output = 165 Watts RMS Speaker = 15" Celestion Driver & Horn Input Gain = Normal & High Compressor = Yes - Switchable Enhance = Yes - Switchable Direct Inject = XLR Limiter = Yes - Switchable EQ - Bass/Mid/Treb/Vol/Gain etc FX Loop Switchable Horn Tuner Out Extension Speaker Socket = (8 ohm) Please feel free to PM, Thanks Justin
9.
so are you asking if you could make your own neck from a headed neck? I think the only person who could answer that is you, depending on how confident you are in your woodworking skills perhaps?
Thanks, Very true!
10. Hi, a big thanks to Basschat and its members, especially to all who have shared there ideas, thoughts and for supplying various parts for my custom build. I have both a new Stienberger & Status style bridge and string retainer to use on my neck. I am currently in talks with Soulmate Guitars & Christopher Woods for a custom laminated neck inc LED's for use with a headless setup. I am quite handy when it comes to custom jobs etc but i am toying with the idea of adapting another pre-made neck as a trial. If i were to use the Status style system then the trust rod adjustment will need to be located at the bridge end and not the nut? If i were to use the Stienberger system them it has a hole at the top nut = String retainer for acsess to the trust rod mounted at the top. My Question is = Before spending $500+ on a custom job, could i do this myself by using a flat paddle headstock / Jass neck etc. Or = could someone assist in the making of a neck, I have all measurements for a Status Neck? The Body has been shaped to take a standard Scale. Many Thanks Justin.

18. Hi, I am new to this site and would like to introduce myself. I am 26 and live in Cheshire, I have played bass for around 10 years and i enjoy playing Slap bass (Mark King style) I play in a 5 piece band covering tracks from 60's - 80's. I am married with 2 kids and enjoy Fishing & Shooting. My setup consists of a Westone Thunder 1 A Bass and a Laney 160w 1,15 combo. NOW MY PROBLEM! I have a lovely Laminated bass body from the states for a custom project. I have picked up a set of 4 string Bartolini (Status/Alembic) soapbar type pickups. I believe the majority of these pickups are passive. I bought them from the US but the seller had no idea about wiring etc. I like playing slap and originally wanted an Active system but i think using these quality pickups, they will produce a great sound. If i use a passive circuit then maybe i could use a booster (Mid Pot) etc. I currently use an old Westone Thunder 1A bass and had thought of using its complete wiring circuit? I am struggling to find a decent neck and had also planned on using the westone neck with LED's installed and a modified ibanez musician type headstock. Any help or ideas would be great, Cracking site See Pics attached. Many thanks Justin
