  1. Just been thinking about preamp/DI boxes that have headphone & Aux inputs. With the likes of EBS, Ampeg, TC, GK, Broughton, Laney, Mesa, Genzler, and now Aguilar, offering headphone / Aux inputs, don't you agree that the likes of Tech 21 and MXR are lagging behind in this area? It's becoming more of a crowded marketplace for sure, but I wonder if either of those have something in the pipeline in this regard. More bassists than ever seem to be using IEMs or needing a swiss army knife preamp/DI with headphone / aux for silent practice, so whilst there are plenty of options out there, I'm also a little surprised that some companies are yet to offer anything as such.
  2. Just spotted this. It seems they missed a trick here, in that it seems like a very clean preamp/DI. A second channel / footswitch for some drive / distortion would surely have been better, they could've still had the Bright and Deep options as buttons as well. It's good that they added headphone / AUX inputs, but a dirt option would've been excellent on this. . . like a scaled down Tone Hammer, with XLR out where (IMO) it should be, facing left.
  3. For Shure IEM users: Is there a knack to removing the earpieces from the cable without breaking them? I feel a bit silly admitting this (but I really don't think I was being heavy-handed). . . as the left earpiece of my SE215s was cutting out frequently for a while, and getting worse, I decided to remove it, with the idea of putting one on from a spare set at church. As I gently squeezed, twisted & pulled the detachable earpiece away from the cable, the 2 plastic halves separated and kind of snapped, with bits flying out. If my earpiece wasn't broken already, it certainly was now! Fortunately church provided a new set, I mean I guess these things have a shelf life, and I'd used them regularly for 4 years or more anyway. Something I still want to do though is try out all the different sizes of earpiece, to really see which works best for me. So I thought I'd have a go with the remaining earpiece of the broken set. The exact same thing happened. As I gripped the black foam sleeve (which turned to mush as I did so), to pull it off the earpiece (trying to be even more careful this time), the clear earpiece just broke apart. So, both earpieces broken. But at least I have a spare cable now! The thing is, now I'm scared to pull the black foam sleeves off the new set in case it happens again, yet I could really do with fitting smaller sleeves on them. It's frustrating that these things are so delicate. So, what is they key to removing the black foam sleeves (or whatever your chosen sleeve is) from the earpieces, and removing the earpieces from the cables on Shure SE215s, without breaking them?! Also, as I like the sound of the SE215, but am not keen on the chunky ear loop part of cable when listening in bed, I've just bought some Shure SE112 earphones (solely for listening to music, not for playing bass through), I haven't read up on this yet but I presume it's just the grey silicone earbuds that come with them, that fit this model. I even feel scared to pull those off to try the different sizes! Thanks. Oh, and please tell me that someone else has broken an earpiece trying to take one off the cable, or take a sleeve off an earpiece!
  4. I had one of these briefly whilst trying out short scale again. They are quality instruments and great bang for buck. The necks are super nice, smooth & fast. GLWTS
  5. I can vouch for Tim being a great Basschatter. GLWTS
  6. Paul bought a Boss BB-1X pedal from me. He paid up very quickly and was great to deal with. Thanks!

  8. SOLD Boss BB-1X Bass Driver pedal. £55 delivered. Fairly priced for quick sale. Good used condition, couple of small paint chips on enclosure and scratches on silver plate. Heavy duty velcro on bottom. I don’t have the original box or manual, but I’m sure the manual can be found online, and it’s pretty self explanatory anyway. Has an extra ‘Line out’ output for balanced TRS. Nice organic / natural overdrive for a bit of growl, without the dark or baked in sound that a lot of overdrives seem to have. Clean blend is a bonus. Doesn’t lose low end like some drives do, and you can add more with the EQ anyway if needed. Takes a 9V battery or the usual centre negative power input (battery / power supply not included in sale). Hinge washer is broken at the top which is not unusual for a Boss pedal, but the foot switch operates as it should. Pedal is in perfect working order. Will post same or next day depending on my work shifts.
  9. Bought some pickups from John. Arrived in good time & well packed. Many thanks
  10. Since my last comment, I've seen the Blue version of this up close in person, it looked absolutely stunning. I would have been incredibly tempted if it was a Precision. Surprised this is still here.
  11. Lovely bass with tasteful upgrades in a great colour. Someone will be really pleased with this. GLWTS.
  12. To send a PM here: click on my profile name, then the message icon (envelope) I bought it used from this site a few months ago, so don’t know how old it is. It’s had very light use from what I can see. The enclosure is solid and very good quality. I’ve had it as an ‘always on’ thing but having managed without a compressor for decades, I don’t feel I need one, so am selling it to free up funds for other stuff. I can post today if you or anyone else is able to pay in the next couple of hours. Cheers
  13. Bought a P bass from Riki. Well looked after, in great condition as described, arrived quickly, safely & very well packed. Many thanks!
  14. I had this bass very briefly. It wasn’t for me in the end but I can see why people like them, and I can vouch for the seller being a great Basschatter
  15. SOLD Priced for quick sale: Keeley Bassist Limiting Amplifier (Compressor) in excellent used condition. I don’t have the original box or manual, but it will be posted in a non matching pedal box along with some printouts explaining its use from the Keeley website. Couple of very tiny paint chips and light scratches on the front. Heavy duty velcro on underside. Posted same or next day depending on my work shifts. Will post to UK mainland only.
  16. If this is anything like the Player Precision it will be a great bass. GLWTS
  17. Here here. It’s an absolutely disgrace that someone would deliberately show a false weight in order to get a sale and hope that the buyer doesn’t notice and/or mind the weight increase. Hugely disappointing & frustrating for the buyer, especially when a waste of a journey and tank of fuel is involved as in your case. Weight is a huge issue if you have back / shoulder problems & people should respect that by giving an accurate weight. I’m glad I bought a digital luggage scale to help me sell on here, I pride myself on giving an accurate weight in bass sale listings. Considering they only cost around £15, and of course can be used to weigh luggage too, I don’t think it’s too much to ask of any seller of musical instruments to invest in one. Perhaps it could even be made mandatory on here. . . Fair play to the seller here for their honesty, it’s just a shame they themself were let down by another. GLWTS for this beautiful bass
