Again, what i said, that is just a fake ric, or fraud. That is different to something that is clearly not a ric but ric shape. If you advertise something as a rickenbacker, and it isn't, that is clear fraud. If you advertise something as a ric shaped bass, that isnt fraud.
In the context of the Ric police, they are likely the ones flagging up the fraudulent overseas sellers.
And fraud ain't going to get you too far if the seller is on the opposite side of the globe.
There's loads of "Rickenbacker"s in Aliexpress at the moment.
Or even in the UK: just search eBay for "Rickenbacker truss rod".
There was a number of 12-string "R" tailpieces on eBay a week ago, but I can't find them anymore; maybe words have been said.

I think there is quite a difference between a fake ric, which I don't think any agrees with, and a ric styled bass. It is pretty obvious that none of those chickenbackers are rics or trying that hard to be like them.
'cept some of the sellers post pics of real Rics.
I'm confident I can spot a faker, but others, maybe relatives buying presents or just newbies.
It's not just newbies who get taken in either: a couple of years ago there was a shop which posted pics of the lovely blue Ric they had in for servicing, only to be ridiculed out of town by a barrage of "It's a Chickenbacker!!!" replies.

Fanbois of the worst kind. Worse than the Ernie Ball shower.
Well, the Fender market is a mess, awash with "upbranded" fakes hoping to catch people out.
I've seen people caught out with fake Rics and there are incompatible parts being sold as replacements on eBay.
So I wouldn't be too sneery at the (albeit self-appointed) defenders of the faith.

Ebay disputes are heavily weighed in buyer's favour. If you didn't like it, he could refuse the return, but if it arrived damaged or faulty, you would have no issue raising a dispute and getting your money back.
If it arrives with the "R" word on it, then it's a counterfeit and so could be rejected on that basis.
The seller doesn't disclose the info, and so leaves themselves open to the buyer claiming that.
I'm not sure if the buyer has to return a counterfeit, but I think the seller has to pay.

FYI, if anybody is interested, I have a barebones set of pedals which came off an organ.
I got them as a project intending to add MIDI electrics and an enclosure, but I just went and bought a Roland PK-5A instead, so they've been sat gathering dist.
I should've put them on the table at the last Bass Bash!

I had a Ketron a while back; changing settings was a bit limited.
Good if you only want to dial in one sound or use a supplementary switcher.

I replied to one of these ads for a Wal - seller said Shetland - I said great, my aunt lives there - not a note after.
I've done similar when replying to some dodgey ads before; the seller always seemed to have "just moved" to the other end of the country, so I'd say what a coincidence, as it so happened that I was visiting relatives in that very town just next week.

Anybody regularly selling on Ebay will be aware of distance selling regs.
It all comes down to how much hassle they create. I took a company to court over a Bluetooth speaker, nothing nothing nothing until we walked through the door and they settled. Told the magistrate all done and they moved on.
Sure - you'll win, but it is hassle.

An interesting interpretation of a Riverhead interpretation of a Flyte on eBay.

That signature must be worth at least £6k.

Distance selling regs invalidates the "No returns" claim. They can say what they like, but they can't ignore the law. even though they try to. Local trading standards won't do anything, but a small claim is easy to make. 90% of people in this position will settle out of court.
Now whether somebody would take them to court is another issue, but the small claims court fees are quite low and I would suggest that have a 100% chance of winning their case. I'm running something like 4-0 on small claims. over the last 20 years.

Sure - I don't know if they know that or if they'd try and tough it out.

I have for sale on eBay a Burns Flyte bass guitar body and neck made by Sherwood in the 70’s. The serial number on the neck is 371 and the body is 254.
I've seen that - could be an interesting project, but finding parts could be a challenge.

£450 is a lot for a Chickenbacker.
If the price doesn’t cover taxes then you’re looking at a possible £100-150 extra for VAT plus duty plus handling fees.
The seller also states no returns, but what happens if there is an issue? It’s a no from me.

How deep is your case, how deep how deep is your case, I really need to know.

A rather literal interpretation of a hollow body.

Darn - if only I hadn't bought one just over a year ago!
@Daz39 I bought mine over the standard one for the colour, plus it's got an extra button that does something!

I'd check out how the Stomp does your clean signal.
I don't think I could have one as a single pedal; I have mine in a loop which can be switched in for effects, but is out of the way otherwise.

What's that bass in the background? Thought it was an SD Curlee but I'm not sure the neck pickup orientation is correct.
More of a curly wurly!

I think a compressor might even help a tuner,as it will give a more stable signal.

Some people shouldn't be allowed near power tools, or even a screwdriver.

I played my buddy's and was very impressed.
Funnily enough, this was just posted and hus sounds he's getting are killer.
The ones with the fake drums louder than the bass really detract from the demo.
Overall the sounds weren't bad and pretty much covered what I'd use it for - a replacement for a load of sounds which can be used for effect rather than as an alwaye-on/preamp unit.
I have mine in a switcher loop so it's out of circuit when not being used.
